I saw this was trending and I wanted to hop on the trend!

Tops(grocery store)! started when I was 16 and then was promoted to shift lead after I turned 18. I worked with a lot of ppl my age and I worked night shifts so it was never too busy (besides holidays) honestly a great first job!

Nursing home! I started when I came home from college my first year, I was a unit helper there and I had morning shifts so I got to enjoy my day after work.

Assisted living! I started this job when I moved and I love it, all of my residents are so nice and bc there’s only a small number of them a lot of my shift is really just cleaning the building and hanging out with them during activities

Hosting! I love it, as someone who’s never done food service before, it’s not that bad. I work with a lot of ppl my age and the shifts go by fast!

... Read moreIn today's competitive job market, understanding your own job experiences can provide valuable insights for others seeking employment. Many individuals, especially young workers, often wonder which jobs offer the best balance of work-life and satisfaction. Tops Grocery Store was my first job, offering a mix of learning and socializing with peers. With a steady shift leading to more responsibility and better hours, it taught me the importance of customer service and adaptability. Transitioning into the healthcare field, my time at a nursing home revealed the rewarding nature of caregiving. It not only enhanced my communication skills but also showed me the profound impact care staff can make on the lives of residents. The relationships built there were immensely fulfilling. In assisted living, the smaller atmosphere allowed for meaningful connections with residents, proving that even in a job with less direct oversight, you can create a positive work environment. My experience here emphasized the importance of community and supportive workplace culture. Lastly, my hosting role in the food service industry was a fast-paced change that highlighted the value of teamwork and efficiency. It introduced me to a new social environment and the art of multitasking. By sharing these ratings, I hope to encourage others to reflect on their job experiences, seek roles that resonate with them, and embrace the lessons learned along the way.
