A weekend spent in Chicago, October 2025!
If you are limited on time like we were, staying around the Riverwalk gives you so many options. There is so much to do in Chicago and so many good places to eat at. We loved the River Roast, the food and staff were spectacular!!

Having recently spent a weekend in Chicago, I can wholeheartedly recommend focusing your stay around the scenic Riverwalk area, especially if your time is limited. This charming stretch along the Chicago River combines stunning views with easy access to some of the city's best attractions and dining experiences. During my trip in October 2025, the crisp autumn weather made walking along the Riverwalk particularly pleasant. One highlight was visiting River Roast—a restaurant offering not only spectacular food but also warm, friendly service and fantastic riverfront views. Their menu offers a variety of locally inspired dishes, perfect for a leisurely lunch or dinner after a day of sightseeing. Beyond dining, the Riverwalk places you close to iconic Chicago landmarks. Don’t miss the famous 'Bean' sculpture at Millennium Park, an absolute must-see for photos and the Chicago vibe. Navy Pier is also just a short distance away, offering entertainment, rides, and beautiful lake views. If comedy or theater interests you, check out shows at The Chicago Theater; during my stay, the “Morgan Jay The Goofy Guy Tour” was a sold-out hit. For unique shopping, the nearby Harry Potter Store with its sparkling butter-scotch-themed treats offers a magical experience for fans and casual visitors alike. My weekend in Chicago reaffirmed why this city is a favorite destination—rich in culture, food, and beautiful urban scenery. Whether you’re a local rediscovering Chicago or a visitor on a tight schedule, centering your trip around the Riverwalk maximizes your experience without feeling rushed. I left the city deeply enchanted and already planning my next visit—Chicago truly captivates the heart.
