Proverbs 10-12 Bible study 🌸

Today I studied proverbs 10-12 and this is what I learned

• You will bring joy to your parents if you are wise. But heartache if you are foolish and don’t listen to wisdom.

• Don’t be lazy. Get up and work.

• Blessings are to those who are righteous in the Lord. The wicked will fall eventually.

• Be careful what you say. The more you talk, the more it’s possible for you to sin. Control your lips, and think before speaking.

• Fear the Lord = to give God your respect and undivided attention

• The Lord is a just God.

• Do not gossip. If someone reveals a secret keep it in confidence.

• A woman who is gracious has honor. What the point of being beautiful if you are ugly on the inside (ch 11:22 says a beautiful woman who rejects good sense is like a gold ring in a pigs snout)

• be a wife of noble character (high morals & ideals. A virtuous woman) because of this you will be a crown to your husband, a jewel. You will not cause shame to him.

• Give to those in need. God will multiply your riches. If you give water, you will receive water.

• if someone insults you ignore it. Be slow to react . Don’t be a fool.

• be diligent = constant/attentive/persistent in anything you do.

I encourage you to read the Bible on your own time to gain discernment and understanding.

... Read moreAfter spending quality time in Proverbs 10, 11, and 12, I'm genuinely amazed by how relevant these ancient scriptures still are today. It's more than just reading; it's about letting the wisdom sink in and transform your daily choices. For anyone wondering how to get the most out of their own Bible study, I can't recommend enough having your Bible open and ready for highlighting and notes! One of the most effective ways I've found to absorb the text, especially when focusing on specific chapters like Proverbs 10, Proverbs 11, or Proverbs 12, is to actively engage with it. Don't be afraid to grab a highlighter and mark those verses that speak directly to your heart or challenge your perspective. Just like the images show a Bible open with proverbs highlighted, it helps so much to make it your own. Jot down your thoughts, questions, or personal applications right there in the margins. This isn't just about reading; it's about journaling your spiritual journey. These notes become precious insights, especially when you revisit the chapters later. A theme that really resonated with me from Proverbs 10-12 is the immense power of our words. Proverbs 10:19 warns, "When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent." And later, in chapter 12, we see how "reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing" (Proverbs 12:18). I've personally experienced how easy it is to speak too quickly, to gossip, or to say something hurtful without thinking. This study was a huge reminder to really control my lips. Before I speak, I try to pause and ask myself: Is it kind? Is it necessary? Is it true? It's a daily practice, but the peace it brings to my relationships is invaluable. Another powerful lesson is the call to be diligent. Proverbs 12:24 states, "The hand of the diligent will rule, while the slothful will be put to forced labor." This isn't just about work ethic, but about being constant, attentive, and persistent in everything you do – whether it's your job, your relationships, or your spiritual growth. I used to think diligence meant just working hard, but these proverbs show it's about being intentional and consistently putting in effort. It’s about not being lazy, as Proverbs 10 also emphasizes, but actively pursuing wisdom and good. And for my ladies out there, Proverbs 11 and 12 offer such beautiful insights into what makes a truly valuable woman. Proverbs 11:16 talks about a gracious woman gaining honor, and Proverbs 12:4 describes a "wife of noble character" as a crown to her husband. It’s a powerful reminder that true beauty isn't just outward appearance, but an inner goodness – high morals, integrity, and a generous spirit. It’s about being virtuous and bringing honor through your actions. This isn't about being perfect, but striving to embody these qualities. I genuinely encourage you to grab your own Bible, turn to Proverbs 10, 11, and 12, and see what powerful insights God has for you. Take notes, highlight, and let these ancient truths guide your modern life. You'll discover practical wisdom for every situation!

Proverbs 17-18 bible study 🌸
Tonight I studied proverbs 17-18 here’s what I learned: • better to have little food/things and be at peace. • many people rejoice over other people’s downfall. The Lord sees. They will be punished/humbled. • if someone hurts you, talk to them. Don’t go and gossip to someone else about it
