when all your kids start with an IQ of 140

4/29 Edited to

... Read moreHaving multiple children with an IQ of 140 can be both an exciting and challenging experience for parents. From my perspective, intellectual giftedness brings unique opportunities but also distinct responsibilities. One key lesson I've learned is that high IQ doesn't automatically translate to overall success or happiness. While these children often excel at academic tasks, they may face difficulties in social interactions or emotional regulation. It’s essential to foster a balanced development by encouraging social skills, emotional resilience, and creativity alongside cognitive abilities. Another important insight is the need for tailored educational approaches. Traditional classroom settings may not always meet the advanced needs of gifted kids, so seeking enrichment programs, extracurricular challenges, or personalized learning can make a significant difference. Encouraging curiosity and critical thinking, rather than rote memorization, helps maintain their enthusiasm for learning. Additionally, it's important to remember that every child is unique despite similar IQ scores. Interests, personalities, and motivations vary widely. Listening carefully to each child’s individual needs and aspirations helps provide appropriate support and reduce sibling rivalry that can stem from comparisons. Finally, celebrating achievements while emphasizing effort and growth mindset promotes a healthy attitude toward learning and challenges. Embracing both strengths and imperfections creates a positive environment where gifted children feel valued and supported. If you have gifted children, finding a community or network of parents of gifted kids can provide helpful advice and camaraderie as well.

Raising multilingual children
I used to think I needed a full curriculum, flashcards, and a “perfect plan” to raise multilingual kids… But what actually worked? Simple systems + everyday life. Theme days, talking during routines, repeating the same songs, reading the same books in different languages… it all adds up more

Raising multilingual children
I’ve been working hard for the past years to raise my child speaking several languages and even though it is not the easiest task, it is very worth it. It also is not rocket science, but does require discipline and forming habits. Kids don’t learn language the way we think they do. They learn i
