Frost Bite

Creating an 'icy frostbite' makeup look for winter was such a fun challenge, and I wanted to share some tips and tricks I used to get that ethereal, frosty glow! When I first envisioned this look, I was completely inspired by the shimmering beauty of ice and fresh snow. It’s all about capturing that biting cold, yet beautiful, feeling. To start, I always focus on a very pale, almost porcelain base. I use a slightly lighter foundation shade than my usual, or mix in a white foundation mixer to achieve that 'chilled' effect. Now, for the lips, there are a few ways to go. For a more subtle take, I use a nude lipstick with a cool undertone, topped with an iridescent lip gloss that has blue or silver flecks. For a bolder, more dramatic 'frostbite' effect, I've experimented with mixing a pale blue lipstick with a white one, or even just applying a light blue lip gloss over a nude base. The key is to make them look slightly chapped or 'cold-bitten,' so sometimes I'll gently dab a little extra translucent powder on them after applying the color, or use a matte liquid lipstick in a very pale, cool shade. This look isn't just about the colors; it's about the texture and the overall impression. It’s perfect for winter events, costume parties, or just when you want to get creative with your makeup.
