✨ Still smiling...
I *still* can't stop smiling. It was worth the risk of frost bite and my intense anxiety of crowds.
I've had this silly crush for like 16 years at this point but when he started releasing music I loved it SO MUCH I was embarrassed. I kept it hidden away so no one saw how it affected me. Songs for You truly pointed me in a direction to start healing myself, and now Where The Light Gets In makes me feel like I can open up more and be less afraid of being me.
Sometimes I wish I was more musically-inclined because I want to create the things that helped me... but I'm learning that I just need to share my own strengths instead of be sad about my weaknesses.
Anyway, I don't typically record at concerts because I don't want to block the view of people behind me, but i just ended up hitting record and holding my phone against my shoulder. I didn't care about the perfect shot, I just wanted to be able to hear this experience again. I'm glad I did because I really do just smile like an idiot while rewatching all these.
At one point Ben asked the crowd if anyone was here tonight with the person who makes time slow down and Chris (who was behind me) raised his hand... and Ben just leans OVER ME to give Chris a high five and a "hell yeah brother." 😂 My own husband blocking me from my freebie card, shocker. Lol
