The sheer scale and the incredible, almost otherworldly hue of how BLUE THE WATER WAS around it, is something pictures can barely capture. Whether you're on a cruise or a land tour, finding an opportunity to see these natural wonders is essential for any Alaska bucket list. A common misconception I had was about the weather. Many people think Alaska is constantly freezing, but I was surprised that it wasn't as cold as I thought it would be! Of course, it depends on the season and specific location, but packing layers is key. You'll want waterproof gear and warm options, but don't forget lighter clothing for sunny days. My top tip for anyone planning their trip is to embrace both land and sea.
