I was invited to a private shopping event at FASHIONPHILE Flagship, and was quite proud of my cute fit. The event was hosted at the Fashionphile store in NYC, and I knew I had to look my best as everyone attending would love fashion as much as I do.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
I wore an off the shoulder knit sweater from Yesstyle and a black denim skirt from Zara. This sweater is so comfy and I love the off the shoulder style - you can show off your collarbones 🫢 I paired my outfit with white knee high boots and my Hermes Picotin 18. The white boots were definitely not the comfiest - my feet were dying by the end of the night.
EVENT DETAILS:
This was a private shopping experience, and there were many designer bags and jewelry for sale. They also had a cocktail bar and light snacks, such as a charcuterie board, veggies, and hummus. I didn’t buy anything (no funds to 🤣) but there were a million dream bags of mine there.
... Read moreMy experience at the FASHIONPHILE private shopping event really got me thinking about the perfect outfit for such occasions. It's not just about looking good; it's about feeling comfortable and confident while you browse incredible designer handbags and jewelry. So, if you're ever lucky enough to get an invite to a private shopping event, here are a few tips I've picked up for styling your look and making the most of the experience.
First off, for the outfit itself, comfort is absolutely key, but don't sacrifice style! You want to be able to move freely, try on pieces if you're shopping for clothes, and walk around without sore feet. My white knee-high boots looked amazing, but by the end of the night, I was definitely regretting the choice for comfort. Next time, I might opt for a stylish block-heeled bootie or even chic sneakers if the event is more casual. Think about materials that feel good against your skin, like a soft off-shoulder sweater or a comfortable yet polished black skirt. Layers are also a great idea, especially if you're going from outside to a warm store, or if you're planning to try things on. A stylish jacket or blazer can complete your look and be easily removed.
When it comes to shopping day outfits in general, my go-to rule is always 'easy on, easy off.' If you're planning on hitting up several boutiques or department stores, you'll be constantly changing. Simple dresses, jumpsuits, or even a well-fitting pair of jeans with a stylish top work wonders. Avoid anything with too many buttons, zippers, or complicated fastenings. And for shoes, seriously, choose comfort! Flat boots, stylish sneakers, or comfortable loafers are your best friends for a day of retail therapy. A cross-body bag is perfect to keep your hands free for holding shopping bags and browsing.
Now, about the private shopping event itself – it's often more than just shopping. These events are usually designed to be an experience. From my time at FASHIONPHILE, I saw that they often feature a cocktail bar and delicious snacks, creating a social atmosphere. It's a fantastic opportunity to mingle with other fashion enthusiasts and collectors. Don't be afraid to strike up conversations! You might discover new shops, styling tips, or even make new friends who share your passion for fashion.
While I didn't buy anything this time (my dream designer bags were a bit out of budget!), I still left feeling inspired. It’s a chance to see rare items, learn about trends, and simply enjoy the ambiance. Remember, you don't always have to make a purchase to enjoy the exclusivity. Sometimes, the joy is in the experience itself – admiring the craftsmanship of a beautiful designer handbag, sipping a cocktail, and soaking in the fashion-forward energy. So, whether you're dressing for a high-end private event or just a casual shopping spree, always make sure your outfit reflects your personal style and keeps you feeling fabulous throughout the day.
