Dressing up every day outfits is honestly something that is so fun, especially on the days when you don’t really necessarily have something exciting going on but you just want to feel beautiful. That doesn’t go to say you weren’t already beautiful in your own body just as you are, because you are already beautiful! But wearing a cute outfit just gives you the extra boost of confidence.
The first outfit I’m wearing is a Free People Hot Shot dress with a lululemon sports bra layered underneath it, with some sneakers and gold jewelry! I also paired up with my blue light glasses because this is definitely an outfit out where to go work at a coffee shop, and I always wear my blue light glasses when I do that.
The next outfit is so simple, but honestly, so cute, it’s just a Brandy Melville T-shirt paired with Jean shorts. I Also pulled out some sneakers that I haven’t worn in almost 2 years, just because I never think about them. This is a huge reason why I love Pinterest because it just reminded me how much a fun pair of sneakers can add to an outfit. The dainty gold necklace is also such a cute touch.
The last outfit is by far some thing I would wear on an every day basis if I was allowed to. And it is a basic white tea paired with striped boxer shorts. My biggest tip is to get American Eagle men’s boxer shorts, they are so baggy and comfortable! I’ve been paired this outfit with some long socks and my Birkenstock Boston’s, of course! These are by far my most worn pair of shoes, and I cannot express enough how much I love them.
... Read moreIt's so much fun to take those everyday basics we all have in our closets and give them a fresh, elevated spin! I've found that you don't need a closet full of designer clothes to feel chic and put-together, whether you're heading to school, grabbing coffee, or just enjoying a casual summer day. It's all about how you style them, and finding those key pieces that truly spark joy and confidence.
One of my biggest tips for achieving that 'elevated basic' or even 'clean girl' aesthetic is to focus on fit and fabric. A well-fitting, good-quality plain white tee, for instance, can be the foundation for countless outfits. Think about investing in a few core pieces that you can mix and match. While I love my Brandy Melville tees for their soft feel, you can find similar comfy options almost anywhere. The key is comfort meeting style.
Let's talk about leveling up those casual looks, especially for summer and school. For cute summer outfit ideas, consider light, breathable fabrics. I adore a flowy dress, like a Free People Hotshot dress, because it's effortless yet chic. You can easily layer a Lululemon sports bra underneath for added comfort and a sporty touch, especially if you're active. Pairing it with some classic sneakers, maybe even a pair of Hoka Clifton 9's for that trendy, comfort-first vibe, instantly makes it a complete look. Don't forget denim shorts – a good pair of Desu denim shorts or any well-fitting cut-offs are a summer staple. They're perfect with a simple top and can be dressed up or down with accessories.
When it comes to outfits for school, comfort is non-negotiable, but that doesn't mean sacrificing style. The 'clean girl' aesthetic often revolves around minimalist, polished basics. Imagine a crisp white button-down worn open over a simple tank top, paired with comfortable jeans or even some stylish wide-leg trousers. For those days when you just want maximum comfort, those baggy American Eagle Men's Boxer shorts I mentioned earlier can actually be styled for outside the house! Add a fitted top, a chic belt bag, and some cool Adidas sneakers, and suddenly it's an intentional streetwear look. It's all about how you frame it!
Accessories are truly game-changers. A simple gold necklace or hoop earrings can instantly elevate a plain outfit. It's those little details that make a big difference. And shoes! I can't stress enough how much the right footwear transforms an outfit. My Birkenstock Bostons are a prime example – they're incredibly comfortable but also add a unique, relaxed-chic vibe to anything from jeans to dresses. Experiment with different sneaker styles too; chunky sneakers can add an edgy feel, while classic white trainers keep things crisp and minimal.
Don't be afraid to mix high and low. You can absolutely pair an affordable top with a slightly pricier, well-made bottom, or vice versa. The goal is to feel good in what you're wearing, and that confidence shines through every time. So next time you're staring at your wardrobe, remember these tips and have fun creating your own elevated basic looks!
🫶🏽 I love your style
