Not For Us, But Our Hair Loves It 💕👩🏽‍🦱

When I say “not for us”, I mean it’s not a marketed towards black women! But I traded in my Aussie for Garnier and my hair has never felt better! I know I feel more comfortable, buying the products market towards black women, or the products that mention Shea butter specifically (if you know you know), but the next time you’re in the aisles pick up some Garnier.

The shampoo leaves my hair feeing buildup free, clean, yet not stripped and dry.

... Read moreFollowing up on my initial discovery about Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into some questions I know many of you might have, especially since finding products that truly work for our unique hair types can be a journey! When I first tried this line, I was mostly focused on finding something that left my natural hair clean without stripping it dry, and the 72H Frizz Control promised by the Vegan Keratin + Argan Oil blend was a huge plus for managing my curls. Now, many of you asked about whether Garnier's sulfate-free shampoos are suitable, or what about color-treated hair, or even volumizing options. While my personal experience is with the Sleek & Shine, I've done a bit more research and have some thoughts to share. For those concerned about sulfates, while the Sleek & Shine isn't explicitly marketed as sulfate-free, Garnier does offer other lines, like their Whole Blends, that are often sulfate-free and formulated with gentler cleansing agents. If you have a sensitive scalp or extremely dry hair, looking for those specific sulfate-free labels within the Garnier range could be a game-changer. It’s all about checking those ingredient lists! For my friends with color-treated hair, maintaining vibrancy is key. From my experience with the Sleek & Shine, I haven't noticed any adverse effects on my hair's natural color, but if you have chemically colored hair, you’ll typically want to opt for shampoos and conditioners specifically labeled "color-safe" or "sulfate-free" as sulfates can sometimes strip color faster. Many Garnier lines now include formulas designed to protect color, often enriched with antioxidants or specific botanical extracts. It's truly amazing how much variety they offer once you start looking beyond the initial marketing. And what about volume? My hair tends to be on the thicker side, so I'm usually looking for frizz control and definition rather than added volume. However, Garnier does have specific volumizing lines, like the Fructis Full & Plush, which are designed to lift at the root and plump up strands. If you're looking to boost your hair's body, exploring those targeted products within the Garnier family might give you the results you're dreaming of. Remember, what works for one hair type might not work for another, but the brand offers so many solutions for different concerns. As for the long-term effects, I can honestly say that after consistently using the Fructis Sleek & Shine, my hair feels healthier and more manageable. The initial benefits of being buildup free, clean, yet not stripped and dry have persisted. My natural curls feel softer, and the frizz is definitely more controlled, even in humid weather. I've noticed fewer tangles and my hair just feels stronger overall, which I credit to the nourishing ingredients like *Vegan Keratin + Argan Oil*. It’s been a pleasant surprise to find such reliable results from a product that I initially overlooked. So, don't be afraid to step outside your usual product comfort zone – you might just discover your hair's new best friend!
