... Read moreIn my own journey, I realized that questioning your career isn’t about failure but about gaining clarity. Early in my career, I stuck to a path just because I was competent, but over time, I felt a lack of fulfillment. Understanding that success is not fixed helped me redefine what I wanted my career to look like. One important lesson I learned is that being good at a job doesn’t mean you have to keep doing it. Competence and fulfillment are distinct; valuing one over the other can guide your decisions. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had, but I also recognized when it was time to move on. Change doesn’t erase experience; rather, it layers your skills, confidence, and lessons learned to build a stronger foundation. Starting over updates your trajectory rather than erases it. You don’t owe your past self the future she imagined, especially if you now know better. The best plan you had back then was made with limited information, and growth means adapting your plans as you learn more. If you’re questioning your career, remember it’s a natural part of professional development and can lead to a richer, more authentic work life. Embrace it as a chance to realign with your true goals, not as a setback.
