... Read moreOkay, so let's be real – the leftover dilemma is a huge one! I used to be firmly in the 'I hate leftovers' camp, especially if it was something I didn't plan to eat again. But over time, I've learned a few tricks that have totally changed my perspective, and now I actually look forward to some next-day meals! First, let's tackle why some of us really detest leftovers. For me, it often comes down to texture. Remember those crispy fries from a takeout container? Reheat them in the microwave, and they turn into a sad, soggy mess. Same goes for some types of meat that get rubbery or dry. Other times, it's just 'leftover fatigue'—that feeling of eating the same thing again. It can feel uninspired, right? But what if we could make them inspired? I've found that the biggest game-changer is how you reheat them. Forget the microwave for everything! If you want that crisp back in your pizza or fried chicken, an air fryer is your best friend. Seriously, it's a revelation for many reheated foods. For pasta dishes, sometimes a quick simmer on the stove with a splash of water or broth brings them back to life better than a zap. I've also learned that some specific food types just don't handle reheating well, like certain delicate fish or leafy greens. Knowing which ones to avoid reheating helps prevent disappointment. Then there's the art of reinvention. This is where leftovers stop being 'just leftovers' and become a whole new meal. Had a big roast chicken? Shred the remaining meat and turn it into tacos, a sandwich filling, or a quick stir-fry. Leftover rice can become fried rice, and veggies can be tossed into an omelet. It's all about looking at the components and thinking, 'What else can this be?' This is especially great for reusing meat and avoiding food waste from restaurant portions that are often too big. And what about those magical dishes that actually *taste better the second day*? Oh yes, they exist! Curries, stews, chili, and bolognese pasta dishes often develop richer, deeper flavors overnight as the ingredients meld together. Pizza is another classic – some people even prefer it cold or quickly air-fried! I've also found that roasted vegetables like sweet potatoes or broccoli can sometimes be even more delicious the next day when quickly warmed up. Honestly, getting good at eating and enjoying leftovers has been a huge win for my wallet and for reducing waste. Instead of dreading that container in the fridge, I now see it as a convenient, pre-prepped meal ready for a little creativity. So next time you're wondering whether to eat those leftovers, try a new reheating method or a little reinvention. You might just surprise yourself!

I love to eat left overs, but I can only eat the left overs after the first night anything after I actually don’t trust eating it… is that weird??

Honestly it depends. Leftover pizza? ALWAYS. But leftover fries? They’re never the same. I’ll eat most leftover but some just aren’t as good the next day.
