Mature And Wise Are NOT Equal!

Let’s pray 🙏🏾 and get this day underway♥️!

Good morning Family ☀️❤️ During my YouVersion reading today, the Lord brought me right to James 1:5. This verse is one of my FAVORITES because every single day I’m praying for WISDOM🧠, GUIDANCE🧭, UNDERSTANDING🤲🏼, KNOWLEDGE📘, and DISCERNMENT👀. James reminds us that if we ASK, God GIVES generously🙌🏾. And let’s be honest… some grown folks make choices that just DO NOT make sense🤦🏻‍♂️. That’s because GROWING UP and GROWING WISE are two DIFFERENT things💡. MATURITY and WISDOM are not the same either.

James wouldn’t tell us to ASK if God wasn’t showing him that we’re gonna NEED it🙏🏼. WISDOM is a GIFT🎁 from GOD — not something you get from culture, vibes, idols, or “energy”🙅🏽‍♀️. When people keep making FOOLISH decisions, it’s usually because they’re not WALKING with God🚶🏾‍♂️ or SEEKING His WISDOM🛐. So this morning, Family, PURSUE God❤️‍🔥. BUILD relationship🤝🏼. SEEK His WILL📖. ASK — and He WILL pour out WISDOM, GUIDANCE, and DISCERNMENT🕊️.

🕊️Scriptures to Meditate On🙏🏾

... Read moreIn my own journey, I’ve often noticed that getting older doesn’t automatically mean making wiser choices. Many people confuse maturity with wisdom, assuming they come together, but that hasn’t always been true in my experience. Maturity is about age and experience, but wisdom involves applying knowledge and discernment rightly, often guided by spiritual insight. One thing I've learned is the importance of actively seeking wisdom through prayer and reflection, much like the encouragement found in James 1:5. Asking God for wisdom has been a transformative practice for me. When I pray for guidance, I become more attentive to decisions both big and small, and I notice when my heart leans towards foolish or impulsive actions versus thoughtful, enlightened choices. The prayer included in the article — asking for eagerness to listen, discernment, and a craving for God’s ways — really resonates with me. It reminds me that wisdom is a gift freely given by God when we pursue it sincerely, not something we can earn by simply growing older or relying on worldly methods like trends or 'vibes.' Additionally, meditating on scriptures such as Proverbs 2:6 and Colossians 1:9 has helped me develop a deeper understanding of wisdom’s divine nature. Proverbs 2:6 states that "the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding," which highlights that true wisdom originates from God alone. Building a relationship with God is essential in my pursuit of wisdom. It requires daily effort, prayer, and a willingness to align my decisions with God’s will rather than my own impulses. Sharing this insight with others in faith-based communities has been encouraging, helping many recognize the difference between simply aging and growing wise. For anyone feeling stuck or frustrated by poor decisions despite getting older, I suggest trying this prayerful approach. Ask God for wisdom, commit to listening closely, and be open to changing course when you sense divine guidance. Wisdom doesn't come overnight, but with persistence and faith, it becomes a powerful compass in life’s journey.
