Loco: The Idea of Us
Makhia “Loco” Matthews. That damn Loco definitely lives up to his name, like Loco and all his unhinged behavior lol. He kept me laughing throughout this whole book with his crazy tail!. Loco was about his money, music, and his gang, the Lords, and running through women until he laid eyes on Diamond Scott. Loco money and fame didn’t faze Diamond, and she actually wanted nothing to do with him. But Loco was not letting up on Diamond. I like how Loco was there for Diamond when everything hit the fan with Gwen, her sister. Gwen smh how she just left her baby in the hospital, then Diamond had to take her, just sad, but I'm glad she did. Diamond didn't want her niece Keona to grow up in the foster system like them. Gwen picks drugs over her child, basically. Diamond tried her hardest to get her sister on the straight and narrow, but she wasn't successful. I like how attached Loco got to baby Lord, that's what he called Keona lol he basically played father and uncle. Loco had me crying laughing at him, the chapter where they went to feed the animals while in the car, OMG!! I couldn't stop laughing just picturing that hold scene. Diamond aggravated me at times; she literally didn't trust Loco, and her insecurities and trust issues almost cost her a good man. Kabria is Diamond's best friend. I like her 'cause she basically told her to chill out.
Loco is not like her ex, Tristan. Kabria was real; she had no filter. I like that Loco considers Kabria his friend as well; they got along well. I didn't like the overused word Lord Loco was saying so much that I got confused at times. Loco cousin Porcia, that girl off the chain, I wonder, would she have a book? She kinda aggravated me in this book, too.
Prynce and Jabari, I need to read their book as well; they're before this one. I like Loco's best friends, Prynce and Jabari, were there for him when he needed them, basically his brother, and their wives were like Loco's sisters. I like that Loco's mother was there for Diamond when she found out about Keona, her niece, and that she can relate to what Diamond was going through with her sister because she went through the same with her brother. I like how Loco's family and friends expected Diamond. Loco and Diamond made for each other. She changed a Thug to a lover. This book was wild but entertaining.
