What’s in my hospital bag as a first time mom 🫶🏼

Hi mamas! I’m officially in the third trimester which means we are nesting and preparing for baby girls arrival within the next few months! These are some of the things I have packed and ready for the hospital when the time comes! I’m sure I may change some of it, but this is what we have so far prepared! We also have a bag packed for baby and for dad! Unfortunately it wouldn’t let me add any more photos, so I’ll type what else we are bringing below!

items not shown in photos that I’ll be packing later on :

* long phone charger

* camera + tripod

* Polaroid camera + camera

* snacks

* stress ball + comb for pushing

* pillows

* Dads bag! Including all his necessities + his toiletries, a pillow and blanket for him too!

*shower slippers

* speaker / earbuds

* flameless candles /nightlight

We are beyond excited and feeling all the feels for the home stretch of pregnancy over here! We have our maternity photos coming up too! Which we are so excited about and can’t wait to share :)

I hope you all are well!!

Comment below your hospital bag contents!! I’d love to hear 🫶🏼 Also, as a first time mama, I am still learning! So I would love to hear any suggestions or must haves for our hospital bags. I love to keep things as minimal as possible but also have all that we need! I’ve heard the hospital provides everything you need mostly, so this is very helpful!

... Read moreHey fellow mamas-to-be! As my due date inches closer, the excitement (and a little bit of nerves!) is building. One thing that truly helped me feel more prepared for welcoming our little one was packing my hospital bag. It can feel overwhelming, especially as a first-time mom, trying to figure out what you really need versus just what's nice to have. When to Pack Your Hospital Bag? Most advice suggests having your hospital bag packed and ready to go by around 36-37 weeks. I started gathering things even earlier, around 32 weeks, just to avoid any last-minute stress. You never know when your little one might decide to make their grand entrance! I organized mine into a few smaller bags – one for labor essentials, one for postpartum comfort, and a separate one for baby's things. This makes it super easy for your partner or a nurse to grab exactly what you need without rummaging. Mom's Comfort & Recovery Essentials Beyond what I initially packed, I've learned a lot from other moms, and here are some items I've prioritized for ultimate comfort: Cozy Layers: Hospitals can be chilly, so a cozy robe and a soft comfy pj nightgown are game-changers. I'm also bringing a light nursing sweater and maternity lounge pants for my going-home outfit. Don't forget fuzzy socks and comfy slippers for walking around – trust me, your feet will thank you! Nursing Support: If you plan to breastfeed, nursing bras are a must. I'm also packing some nursing pads, just in case. The hospital usually provides some, but having your own comfy ones makes a difference. Personal Toiletries: While hospitals provide basics, having your favorite toiletries (travel-sized, of course!) like a gentle face wash, moisturizer, hairbrush, and a good lip balm is heavenly. Hospital air can be very dry! A long phone charger is also an absolute necessity – outlets are never conveniently close. Pain Management & Relaxation: I'm bringing a stress ball and a comb (for counter-pressure) for labor. Also, consider earplugs or a sleep mask for some quiet rest, especially if you're sensitive to light and noise. A small speaker for some calming music can also create a more serene atmosphere. Hydration & Snacks: I packed my trusty water bottle with a straw for easy sips during and after labor. And yes, snacks! Think long-lasting energy boosters like granola bars, dried fruit, or even some yummy cookies for a post-delivery treat. Baby's First Moments While the hospital provides most of what baby needs, those personal touches are so special: Going-Home Outfit: Of course, the adorable newborn outfits for photos and the ride home. I picked out a couple of options, just in case one doesn't fit or weather changes. Comfort Items: A soft baby blanket for cuddling and pacifiers (even if you're unsure if you'll use them, it's good to have on hand). And don't forget that cute 'Hello World' sign for those first precious photos! Don't Forget Your Partner! My partner is packing his own bag too! It includes his toiletries, a change of clothes, pajamas, and his own snacks. We're also bringing a pillow and blanket for him to make sure he's comfortable during what will be a long stay for both of us. Ultimately, packing your hospital bag is about preparing for comfort and convenience during an incredibly special time. Don't stress too much – the most important thing is to focus on meeting your little one!

This is going to sound really weird but you should pack a comb! There’s a lot of research about how during contractions a comb can help with pain by using it for acupuncture & as a distraction!
