Finding a Plumeria, sometimes referred to as a 'PLUMERIA JUNGLE' plant, at this price point is pretty rare, especially one that looks so healthy. These beauties are usually quite a bit more expensive at nurseries, so I knew I had to share this amazing deal with all of you. But, like any new plant baby, it needs a little TLC to thrive. Based on the label and my own research, here’s what I've gathered about keeping your new Trader Joe’s Plumeria happy and flourishing. First things first: light. Plumerias are sun worshippers! They absolutely love bright, direct sunshine. The label mentioned something about '6.8HRS FULL SIGN', which I took to mean it needs at least 6-8 hours of full sun exposure daily. If you're growing it indoors, place it in your brightest, south-facing window. For those of you with outdoor spaces, a spot that gets uninterrupted morning and afternoon sun would be perfect. The more sun it gets, the more vibrant its blooms will be, and who doesn't want that? Next up, watering. This is crucial for Plumerias. The label clearly stated 'WATER OFTEN DURING' its active growing season, which is typically spring and summer. When the weather is warm and sunny, make sure the soil dries out a bit between waterings, but don't let it sit bone dry for too long. They don't like soggy feet, though, so ensure your pot has excellent drainage. Now, here's the important part for cooler months: when your Plumeria goes 'WINTER DORMANT', it will drop its leaves, and you should drastically reduce your watering. Even if it doesn't have leaves or flowers yet, a firm, healthy stem is a good indicator of a strong plant.
