How I’ll be incorporating Jesus into our wedding 🤍

Planning my wedding has been such an incredible journey, and one of my biggest joys is finding ways to truly center Jesus in every aspect of our special day. It’s not just about tradition; it’s about making a profound statement of faith and inviting God’s presence into our union. If you're a bride-to-be wanting to infuse your celebration with spiritual meaning, I hope my ideas can offer some inspiration! One of the first things I thought about was creating a sacred atmosphere even before the ceremony. While getting ready, I’m planning to have a playlist of uplifting worship music alongside some of my favorite girly pop tunes. It sets such a beautiful tone, welcoming the Holy Spirit into those intimate moments with my bridesmaids. It helps calm nerves and really focuses your heart on the true meaning of the day. A truly special moment we’re planning is our 'first touch / last prayer' before walking down the aisle. We won’t see each other, but we’ll hold hands around a corner and share a final prayer as an unmarried couple, asking for God’s blessing on our marriage. This symbolizes our commitment to putting Him first, right from the start. It’s such a powerful way to connect and acknowledge that our union is not just 'you plus two' (us and our officiant), but 'you plus two' (us and God) in a deeper spiritual sense. During the ceremony itself, we’re incorporating a beautiful 'three-strand cord' unity ceremony, inspired by Matthew 19:6. One strand represents me, one my fiancé, and the third, Jesus. As we braid them together, it visually demonstrates that our marriage will be strongest when Christ is at the very center, holding us together. It’s a powerful visual for our guests and a constant reminder for us. For the cocktail hour, I love the idea of a diverse playlist. We’ll be mixing some Christian cozy fall tunes and worship songs with artists like Lana Del Rey and Bridgerton-inspired orchestral pieces. It creates a sophisticated yet spiritually mindful ambiance that everyone can enjoy. And speaking of guests, instead of a traditional guest book, we’re having a 'Bible guest book.' We’ll have open Bibles on a decorative table, inviting everyone to highlight their favorite verse and sign their name next to it, leaving us personal notes and spiritual wisdom to cherish for years to come. It’s such a unique way to involve our loved ones and build a spiritual foundation for our home. Finally, for our party favors, we wanted something truly memorable and faith-filled. Everyone will be getting a little figurine of Jesus on their plate – a sweet, tangible reminder of the divine presence at our celebration and a blessing to take home. And to truly end the night on a high note, we’re planning to conclude with a worship session. Imagine everyone singing praises, hands raised, thanking God for His goodness and celebrating the start of our new life together. It’s going to be such a joyous and unforgettable send-off, truly honoring Him.
