It was so fun seeing my travel journey visually on that Lemon8 map of the US, with 22 states highlighted in yellow, representing 44% of the country! Marking my four favorites with pink hearts really made it special, and I love sharing why these spots truly captured my heart. Okay, so Arizona. What can I even say? It truly is captivating! From the moment I first saw the Grand Canyon, my jaw was on the floor. It's not just a big hole in the ground; it's an experience you have to see to believe. But Arizona is so much more than that. Sedona’s red rock formations are absolutely magical, especially at sunrise or sunset. I loved exploring the quirky shops and hiking trails there, feeling a unique energy. And don't even get me started on the unique desert flora and fauna – saguaro cacti are just iconic! If you're looking for a destination that offers breathtaking natural wonders, a bit of spiritual energy, and sunny weather, put Arizona at the top of your list. When I packed my suitcase for Arizona, I made sure to bring plenty of layers for desert evenings, a wide-brimmed hat, and sturdy hiking boots – essentials for truly soaking it all in. Beyond Arizona, my heart also belongs to Michigan, Florida, and West Virginia. Michigan, especially the Upper Peninsula, is a hidden gem for nature lovers, with its stunning Great Lakes shoreline and lush forests – perfect for vibrant autumn colors! Florida always brings the sunshine and beautiful beaches, making it an easy choice for a relaxing getaway. I adore the laid-back vibe and fresh seafood. And West Virginia? Its Appalachian mountains and charming small towns offer incredible outdoor adventures, from white-water rafting to scenic drives. Each of these states offers a distinctly captivating experience that makes for unforgettable memories. Deciding where to travel can be tough, but I always recommend starting with what kind of experience you're craving. Do you want adventure, relaxation, culture, or incredible food? Once you know that, researching a few states like the 22 states I've been lucky enough to explore becomes so much easier. Don't be afraid to step off the beaten path – some of my most memorable moments were in unexpected places. And when it comes to packing your suitcase, my biggest tip is to always check the weather for your specific dates, and then pack versatile items you can mix and match.
