8 career paths in real estate

This post is for real estate agents who feel like sales is not your thing. And that’s totally okay!! I tried being a sales agent for a year when I decided it just wasn’t my thing! I still loved real estate but wanted to try out a different career within the industry.

1. Real estate assistant- licensure is preferred; you will be assisting a sales agent with the things they don’t have time for. Could be answering emails, doing paperwork, printing off materials, organizing files etc.

2. Transaction Coordinator: licensure needed; you will be managing the transaction start to finish. sending off all paperwork and getting signatures, making sure all deadlines are met, scheduling inspections, and communicating with the title company.

3. Real estate photographer: license is NOT needed; pretty simple you will be taking professional photos of houses to be listed and maybe doing some walk through videos as well.

4. Home Stager: license is NOT needed; you will prep and stage the home to be listed

5. Marketing coordinator: licensure may or may not be preferred; you will be handling all the marketing for homes listed and the agent from social media, creating and print of any marketing materials, and even coordinating client events for the agent/brokerage.

6. Showing Assistant: license required; sales agents will hire you to strictly show homes to their clients only. You will not be discussing any part of the sales process. Usually you get paid per house shown or a percentage of commission depends if you are operating with one specific agent/brokerage or if you are doing it as a self employed.

7. Property Manager: license needed; you will be managing rental properties or apartment building for the owner.

8. Referral Agent: license needed; anytime you come across someone who needs help finding an agent you can refer them to an active sales agent for a percentage of the commission. (This job requires the least amount of work imo)
