but it’s about time an HONEST review comes out about them 👀
i’ve used both the scrub and the body wash for some time now and i have my pros AND cons with them…
CINNAMON PUMPKIN PIE BODY SCRUB 🍂
— don’t get me wrong, this body scrub smells AMAZINGGGG and it seems like the scent radiates off of you fresh out of the shower however, this body scrub is a whipped body scrub and from what i’ve been told, they should be more MOISTURIZING. this was not the case with this product :( i feel like my skin was drier than usual once i was out of the shower and all dried. i noticed i had to put on a lot more lotion than usual post-shower 🥺 regardless, the scent is amazing + it is very strong!
CINNAMON PUMPKIN PIE BODY WASH 🍂
— as far as moisturizing goes with this body wash, it was great! i say this because i noticed my skin was more moisturized when ONLY using the body wash as compared to when using both the scrub + body wash. the scent for this body wash goes the same - smells amazing and is very strong!
both products are great if you are trying to smell like 🍂fall🍂 through and through but i wish the body scrub was as moisturizing as it claims to be 🫣
... Read moreOkay, so after trying out the Dove Cinnamon Pumpkin Pie body scrub and body wash, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into making your fall body care routine truly shine, especially if you're like me and want that cozy autumn vibe without sacrificing moisture!
My biggest takeaway from the Cinnamon Pumpkin Pie scrub was how amazing it smelled – that part is undeniable. But the dryness it left behind? Not so much for my skin, especially as the weather gets cooler and drier. So, if you're loving that fantastic fall fragrance but need to boost your skin's hydration, here are a few tricks I've picked up.
Maximizing Moisture Post-Scrub:
Since the Cinnamon Pumpkin Pie body scrub wasn't as moisturizing as expected, I've found it's crucial to follow up with a really rich body lotion or oil. My go-to is usually something with shea butter or ceramides, or even a simple unscented body oil applied right after towel-drying. This locks in whatever moisture the body wash provided and combats any dryness from the scrub. If you're using the Dove Cinnamon Pumpkin Pie body wash, which I found to be quite hydrating, you can get away with a lighter lotion, but for the scrub, don't skimp on the post-shower hydration!
Building Your Perfect Fall Body Care Routine:
Beyond just the body wash and scrub, a complete fall body care routine can elevate your experience. I often start with dry brushing before my shower – it’s great for circulation and prepping the skin for exfoliation. Then, I use a hydrating body wash like the Dove Cinnamon Pumpkin Pie to cleanse without stripping. If I'm exfoliating, I'll use the body scrub, focusing on areas that get particularly dry. Once out of the shower, gently pat your skin dry, then immediately apply a generous amount of body lotion or cream. Don't forget your hands and feet – they can get extra dry in the colder months! For an extra treat, a body butter before bed can make a huge difference.
Exploring Other Fall Scents & Affordable Options:
The beauty of fall body care isn't just limited to pumpkin! Many brands, including Dove, release other delightful limited edition scents like "sugar cookie" or various "pumpkin spice" variations. If you're looking to explore beyond the Cinnamon Pumpkin Pie, keep an eye out for these. When evaluating personal care companies like Dove for skincare products under $50, they often hit the mark for affordability and accessibility. While a luxurious "affordable body mist" might not be the focus of this article, remember that a good, long-lasting body lotion can actually help "fix" a fragrance to your skin, making lighter scents last longer. For a truly irresistible fragrance experience that lasts all day, layering your scents is key – start with a matching or complementary body wash, then lotion, and finish with a spritz of your favorite mist.
What Makes a Good Body Scrub or Body Wash?
From my experience, a good cinnamon scrub for body should leave your skin feeling smooth and moisturized, not just exfoliated. Look for ingredients like nourishing oils (jojoba, almond, coconut) or shea butter in the formula. For body washes, I prioritize those that cleanse gently without harsh sulfates, as these can strip your skin's natural oils, leading to dryness. The Dove Cinnamon Pumpkin Pie body wash did a great job here, leaving my skin feeling soft and not tight. Understanding these differences can help you make more informed choices next time you're stocking up on fall body care.
