Things I wish I knew before turning 25 🌸

So recently I’ve turn 25 and usually I never feel my new age until months later but 25 was different idk if it’s the fact that I’m half way to 30 or what but I’m feeling positive about the year ahead or what but it got me thinking. I was in such a rush for nothing I didn’t need my life figured the moment I got out of high school … I realized that my own insecurities were getting in the way of living in the moment and creating unnecessary anxiety and I don’t think that’s a way to live. Yes my past struggles still affect me but I’m the only one who can utilize this, taking the bad with the good and creating something out of it. I see how my own emotional damage is affecting the ones around me and that isn’t fair and I just don’t want to be the person. At the end of the day I just want to be happy and I think things like coffee, Red Bull, excessive fast food isn’t the way I want to live I’ve struggled with mental health for a long time and maybe theses things are affecting me more than I realize. i never really knew if I’d make it to 25 but that fact that I am makes want to nurture myself. And it feels good I find myself wanting more. This is a point I didn’t think I was capable of and I did it. 💕

Thank u for reading 🥰 u are valuable to this world.

... Read moreWow, turning 25 really does feel like a different kind of milestone, doesn't it? For so long, I heard about all these 'things you can't do until you're 25,' and I always thought it was about renting certain cars or getting better insurance rates. But as I’ve stepped into this new quarter-century, I’ve realized that some of the most significant 'can'ts' were actually internal – things I couldn’t do for myself until now, simply because I wasn't ready. Before 25, I honestly felt like I couldn't truly grasp the concept of self-acceptance. My mind was so tangled up with insecurities and the pressure to have everything figured out. I remember feeling like I couldn't slow down, couldn't just be without constantly striving or comparing myself to others. That feeling of 'not being enough' was a huge barrier. It felt like I couldn't fully embrace *my girlhood*, my unique journey, without constantly judging it. The idea of truly experiencing love, peace, and happiness seemed abstract, something for other people, not for my messy, anxious self. One big 'couldn't do' for me was really taking my mental health seriously. Before 25, I felt like I couldn't prioritize my own well-being over external demands or unhealthy coping mechanisms. I found myself reaching for excessive coffee, energy drinks, or fast food, thinking they'd give me the boost I needed, when in reality, they were probably making things worse. It was like I couldn't connect the dots between my lifestyle choices and my internal struggles. Now, I'm learning to nurture myself, recognizing that taking care of my mind and body isn't a luxury, but a necessity. It’s a shift from feeling like I couldn't escape my past struggles to understanding that I can actively utilize them for growth. Another thing I genuinely felt I couldn't do before was letting go of the constant rush. I spent so much time worrying about where I should be, rather than appreciating where I was. I couldn't live in the moment because my mind was always racing ahead, creating unnecessary anxiety. If someone had told me to 'enjoy every moment of my life,' I would have nodded, but inwardly, I wouldn't have known how. Now, I'm discovering the beauty in a *simple life*, finding joy in small things, like a perfect cup of tea or a quiet evening. It's about creating my own day in my life that's filled with genuine contentment, not just chasing the next big thing. I also realized I often couldn't see how my own emotional damage was impacting the people around me. It wasn’t intentional, but my unprocessed feelings sometimes created ripples. Now, there's a growing awareness and a desire to be a better, more present person for my loved ones, and for myself. It’s a huge step to acknowledge that and work towards healing. So, while turning 25 might legally open up a few more doors, for me, it's been about unlocking internal doors I didn't even know were there. It's about finally being able to do things like truly accept myself, prioritize my mental peace, and find genuine happiness in the everyday. It's a journey, but it feels good to finally be able to say, 'I can do this.'

✨Things I Wish I Knew @ 25 from My 35yr Old Self✨
🤍Stop trying to make everyone like you — it’s exhausting and pointless. You’ll waste years molding yourself to fit other people’s comfort zones. Stop. Not everyone is meant to like you — and their opinion isn’t your responsibility. 🤍Not everyone is meant to stay in your life — and that’s okay.
