I was sweating in places I didn’t even know I could sweat 😂😂. I am truly grateful though to be able to check off another wonder of the world. 🥹🇮🇹. Italy I will be back for sure 💓
During my first day in Rome, I pushed myself to explore as much as possible, covering around 26,000 steps from early morning at 5:30 am until evening. Walking through the historic Roman streets gave me a profound appreciation for how vast and vibrant the city truly is. Despite sweating more than I expected, every moment was worth it — especially when I stumbled upon local gems like the Osteria serving delicious tomato dishes and the iconic Giolitti, where I enjoyed some of the best chocolate gelato in the world. One key takeaway from this intense day is the importance of wearing comfortable shoes and staying hydrated, especially during warmer months. Early starts, like mine, let you avoid the biggest crowds at landmarks such as the Pantheon and offer a more peaceful experience. Sipping a refreshing spritz in a charming cafe after hours of walking felt like the perfect reward. For anyone planning a Rome trip, I highly recommend integrating plenty of walking into your itinerary to soak up the city’s atmosphere and uncover hidden spots not always seen in guidebooks. While it can be exhausting, the memories made—and the sense of accomplishment—are incomparable. This experience has cemented my love for Italy, and I’m already planning my next visit to explore even more of this fascinating country.
