OUR FAV HOLIDAY TRADITION: DATE NIGHT💌🎄

for the past four years we have celebrated home alone day and LOVE this tradition! 🫶🏼

on december 22nd, kevin from the movie home alone realize he was home alone! he ordered pizza, ate all the best frozen dinners, and ate all the candy and sugary dessert his heart desires because no one told him he couldn’t 😊

SOOOO every december 22nd, we order pizza (or make it frozen - this year we made trader joe’s bbq chicken pizza & trade joe’s burrata and prosciutto pizza), make hot chocolate, make christmas cocktails, and feast on christmas cookies for dessert while watching home alone together with the christmas lights on & cozy candles lit🕯️🤍

i’ve always found actual christmas day to be quite anti-climactic (and a bit sad because it means the holiday season is over 🥹) so i love being able to soak up the holiday season with this little tradition right before christmas comes to an end!

can’t wait to keep this going and do this with our future kids as well!

We indulge in ordering or preparing delicious pizzas, like Trader Joe's BBQ chicken and burrata prosciutto styles, all while dressed in our cozy Christmas pajamas. This day is not just about pizza; it's also about creating a warm atmosphere with hot chocolate, Christmas cocktails, and beautifully lit candles, making our living room a cozy haven. As we gather around to watch 'Home Alone,' we savor Christmas cookies and reminisce about the joys of the holiday season. It's a comforting ritual that allows us to cherish the last moments of the holiday spirit, especially when Christmas Day often leaves us feeling bittersweet. By cultivating this tradition, we look forward to sharing these precious memories with our future children, ensuring that our holiday celebration is filled with joy and excitement each year. As we soak in the festive atmosphere, we reflect on why traditions like these are vital during the holiday season.
