Laser hair removal scam?

I’ve heard trainers, consultants, estheticians, nurses, and dermatologists claim their laser device is permanent hair removal, but it isn’t.

There are some follicles that may become permanently damaged, but don’t expect that to happen to every follicle.

I still think laser is an amazing treatment and clearly the overwhelming amount of the population does too since it’s continuously the number 1 sought after cosmetic treatment.

Reminder that your ethnicity isn’t the reason your hair removal treatments aren’t working. If someone suggests that you have an underlying condition/hormonal imbalance; request a test, if they can’t offer it (eg because they’re only an esthetician), they shouldn’t be suggesting that in the first place because it’s out of their scope of practice.

After 15 sessions, if your hair is still growing normal, the settings could be wrong or there may actually be an underlying problem that should be explored before performing more treatments (although this should have happened way before).
