I proposed to him!

I am so lucky to have found this man. This is my fiancé! We've been together for a little over a year now, and I proposed to him in December of 2023. I know that entire sentence is... a little unorthodox, but I dont care. We both know that we're each others one. Had our fair share of failed and traumatic relationships and could feel the change when we met each other and started dating. We are an *extremely* non-traditional couple. When we marry, he'll be taking my last name since he doesn't like his. I have done 0 planning for our wedding (lol), but we're shooting to have it sometime next year. It's a really stressful and daunting task to even think about, and we have no idea where to begin. Any advice about planning a wedding is greatly appreciated and welcome 🫶

Here are some tips to ease the process: 1. **Set a Budget**: Determine how much you can afford and allocate funds for each aspect of the wedding—from venue to catering. 2. **Create a Guest List**: Draft an initial guest list to get a sense of the size of your wedding. This will affect your venue choice. 3. **Choose a Venue**: Consider locations that hold special meaning for both of you. Research and book early to secure your date. 4. **Find Wedding Vendors**: Look for reliable vendors like photographers, florists, and caterers. Read reviews and compare prices. 5. **Plan Together**: Collaborate with your partner in planning to ensure both your visions are represented. 6. **Stay Organized**: Use wedding planning apps or spreadsheets to track tasks, deadlines, and contacts. 7. **Ask for Help**: Don’t hesitate to seek help from friends or family. Many may have insights or can assist with planning tasks. 8. **Enjoy the Process**: Remember to enjoy this time together—celebrate each step rather than stressing about the details. Every couple's journey is unique, and planning should reflect your personal styles and preferences. Embrace the adventure and cherish the moments leading to your special day.
