... Read moreI recently had the most unexpectedly fun experience at Spin Art Nation Chicago in Lincoln Park, and seriously, if you're looking for unique things to do, this is it! I saw a friend post about it and thought, "Spin art? With a bike?" I had to try it myself. From the moment you walk in, the vibrant, paint-splattered walls and atmosphere just scream creativity. You get to choose your canvas size – I went for a medium, which felt just right – and then they set you up at your own station. The magic happens with a stationary bike connected to a spinning platform. You sit on the bike, choose your paint colors, and as you pedal, your canvas starts to spin. Then, you pour the paint directly onto it, watching as it creates mesmerizing patterns. It's surprisingly therapeutic and incredibly satisfying to see your unique, colorful creation come to life right before your eyes. Seriously, zero artistic skill required! My biggest tip for anyone planning a visit: wear something you don't mind getting paint on! While they provide ponchos, the entire experience is wonderfully messy and part of the fun. You'll likely end up with a few happy paint splatters. I also recommend going with an open mind and just letting the colors guide you. Don't overthink it! It's such a great way to unwind and unleash a little creativity without any pressure. It took me about an hour from start to finish, including picking colors and letting my canvas spin. It’s a fantastic switch-up from the usual dinner or drinks plans, whether you’re looking for a fun date night idea or a memorable outing with friends. Plus, you get to take home a totally unique piece of art as a souvenir. If you're searching for exciting and low-stakes activities in Chicago, especially something hands-on and creative, Spin Art Nation is a 10/10 recommendation from me!
