Hello, today we are going to share a 5-star hotel apprenticeship experience. The hotel of choice is very far from home but I want to go because I want to go to the sea, hahahaha. I don't mention the name of the hotel.

At first, we and our friends applied for another place, but there the apprentice was complete, so he suggested to the hotel that we had trained, which we contacted the hotel. Then HR called everyone to interview, interview in both Thai and English. The English question was quite difficult for us because we prepared the answer, but!! He didn't ask anything like the basic in the general interview, hahahahaha. I thought that preparing to answer the interview question did not help at all. Improvisation alone. I was very excited at that time. I didn't know any other hotels like this. But we found it like this. 🥹 After the interview, he said that he had passed the apprenticeship and then gave the document to sign to check the health before starting work.

What are you practicing? ✨

Start training on the first day. There is nothing much. Just training about the hotel. About the departments. We train the Food and Beverage Department (F & B), which is mainly to work with the kitchen department. Our hotel has 3 dining rooms, which we and our friends are separated. People over there go to the dining room 1, the other goes to the dining room 2, and we stay at the food 3 (get next to the sea. I want to say that it is very hot, my mother). The hotel is not out of work in two sessions, which is 06.00-16 00 and 13.00-23 00. Do 10 hours a day. Each day is not exactly out of work. Otherwise, do not get back 🥴. The first 2 months, we start with the work at the end of the hour. In the dining room is late evening.

Main Function of Dinner Dining Room (Daily)

- See if you stock enough drinks and fill them up.

- Scoop ice, standby, wait at the bar.

- Prepare a table towel + disinfectant at different points

-Set up in front of the dining table (is the placement of plates, spoons, forks, knives, tumblers, etc.)

- Stand and welcome the dining room customers.

-Introduce menu to customers

- Take the client to the table.

-Bring customers water and food menu

- Get the order.

- Bring water and food to serve customers

- Look when customers need help.

- Check the bill for the client.

- Clear the plates on the customer table after the meal.

- Wipe the table and set up the front of the table.

- Call the car back to the guest room.

- Out of work, front of the table, bar.

- Separate the washed tool (spoon, fork, knife) and put it in hot water. Then use a clean cloth to dry it.

- Put the glass in the washing machine and wipe it.

- Mop the bar clean.

- Close the dining room.

The main function is about that. He is always teaching. He can not understand where he can ask. Do not be afraid. Otherwise, we are confused like that. What can not do is gradually learn. Do not press a lot. Always think that we can do it. Hey hey hahahaha. When practicing, we have learned and tried various drinks and hotel signature drinks too. Not easy and not very difficult. Focus on the recipe. There is a customer to drink, but not often because it is not very fluent. Work must be fast because we can not let the customer wait for a long time. We also learned to fold the fabric into shapes such as rose shape, shirt shape, etc. In months 3-4, we moved the dining room to the breakfast room (morning), which requires to enter the job. There is a lot of food, so the 😖 can be a buffer.

Main function of the breakfast room (daily)

- Come to the fair, bring Ovaltine milk, coffee from the refrigerator made day by day to fill the machine for customer service.

- Bring water and milk to the crows and turn on the water heater.

- Scoop the ice into the bucket and put it on the spot

- Put the tray to wait to clear the plate from the customer table.

- Prepare a table towel + disinfectant at various points

- Stand for the customer. Ask the room number.

- Take the customers to the dining room.

- Take the client to the table.

- Look when customers need help.

- Clear the plates on the customer table after the meal.

- Wipe the table and set up the front of the table.

- After breakfast, overhaul the coffee machine.

- Separate the washed tool (spoon, fork, knife) and put it in hot water. Then use a clean cloth to dry it.

- Welcome Drink and put it in front of the Front office.

- Draw things like milk, coffee, Ovaltine to brew for customers.

There are some drinks, tea, coffee for customers each day. In case of more orders, we also helped the catering department, such as gala dinners, company banquets and conference events. I learned a lot in these 4 months. I was very tired but also very fun.

How many holidays a week? ✨

Hotel work is not like working in a company. Most companies have 2 days off, Saturday and Sunday, but hotel work is more focused on Saturday and Sunday, because most other working travelers only have time to travel when they are on their holidays. Therefore, Saturday and Sunday people will stay a lot. Not many people will stop 2 days today. Instead, they will go on weekdays instead. Alternating days with other employees will not stop. Even friends can not stop, because this is work. Usually, the employees will get 2 days off a week. But if a week, a lot of customers may only get 1 day off or work 8-10 days at a time. Then they will stop for the next week. This is quite exhausting. We have been hit 8 days and then the draft is broken. 🥺 * If you change every day.

How is the working society? ✨ This one depends on what kind of person you meet too. 😅

The working society that we met, Treni friends who came from other universities, good habits, there is always something to help each other. The first days were tense, but when working together became closer together, tired, tired together, complaining together (I want to say that there is no day to complain at all, this is true because we train very hard), and the staff are always teaching, really willing to teach, have something to share, be considerate to each other, the kitchen elder is cute, walk into the kitchen until close to the people in the kitchen, hahahaha

This story teaches that the hotel internship is very fun, but also very tiring. Connection. Really, practice a lot more, but not all. This is an essay, hahahaha. Many people may think that the F & B department that we practice is just serving, but actually almost doing everything for the hotel. Finally, we get good credit because we practice 5-star hotels. When we actually work, we can apply for a local hotel that trains or other hotels. It is easy to pass because we have previous experience and also learn a lot of hotel skills. And also practice many aspects of our skills from what we normally think we can do? Because we are not very arrogant, but when we do, we can work smoothly in the service, we are all out of our own zone, because it is a very good experience.)
