Winter (Lunar Chronicles Series)

Well, I finished the Lunar Chronicles Series, and it was amazing! I loved all of the characters, the world-building, and the writing was just perfect. I'm so glad there are two side story books to read because this world that Marissa Meyer created is one I don't want to leave just yet.

I can't get over the characters because they all had poignant growth throughout the four books that was a joy to read, especially Cress.

If you read this series, what are your thoughts on it? Do you have a favorite character? #lunarchronicles #marissameyer #winter #minibookreview #bookseries #bookseriesrecs

... Read moreI just wrapped up The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer, and honestly, I'm still reeling! From the very first book to 'Winter,' the grand finale, this series has been an absolute joyride. It truly felt like watching a movie unfold with every page turn. The way Meyer weaves together classic fairy tales with a futuristic, sci-fi twist is pure genius. As someone who loves a good blend of genres, this series hit every single mark. Let's talk about the characters, because they are the heart of this saga. Each one undergoes such poignant growth, making them feel incredibly real and relatable. You know how much I loved Cress, and her journey from a shy, isolated hacker to a brave hero was just incredible to witness. But it's not just her; the entire diverse cast, from Cinder's fierce determination to Scarlet's fiery spirit and Wolf's unwavering loyalty, makes for an amazing ensemble. You genuinely root for them through every challenge, every heartache, and every triumph. The multiple POVs kept the narrative fresh and engaging, allowing us to delve deep into each character's mind and motivations, especially as they navigated the looming threat of the government takeover by Queen Levana. And the romance? Oh my goodness, the swoony romance in this series is just *chef's kiss*! It's not just one central couple, but multiple pairings that develop beautifully and authentically throughout the books. The slow-burn, the banter, the moments of pure devotion – it all adds so much depth and emotional resonance to the overarching plot. It’s the kind of romance that makes your heart flutter and invests you even more in their fight for freedom. Beyond the characters and romance, the world-building is simply breathtaking. The descriptions of Luna, Earth, and everything in between are so vivid, I could easily picture myself alongside the crew of the Rampion. There's lots of adventure – daring escapes, space battles, political intrigue, and high-stakes missions that keep you on the edge of your seat. 'Winter' in particular brings everything to a head, delivering a thrilling conclusion that's both satisfying and bittersweet. The themes of courage, sacrifice, and the true meaning of beauty are explored so thoughtfully throughout the 'Winter Chronicles' storyline. If you're wondering what to pick up next, especially after seeing the stunning 'Winter' book cover with its white wolf and purple, starry background that perfectly encapsulates the book's mystical and dramatic atmosphere, I highly recommend diving into this series. And for those who love to explore every corner of a fictional universe, don't forget 'Fairest' by Marissa Meyer, which offers a fascinating look into Queen Levana's backstory and adds even more layers to The Lunar Chronicles. If you've read it, tell me, who's your favorite character and why? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

This book is a refreshing take on Cinderella. This one takes place in the future with androids/robots. Cinder is an android and hated by her family only to realize she’s a lost princess. Then has to go on the run. It’s a good series.
