Hey ARK survivors! If you're anything like me, you've probably eyed those massive Brontosauruses stomping around the island and wondered how to get one for yourself. Well, I recently tamed my own high-level 'Wingman' – a fantastic Lvl 240 Bronto – and let me tell you, it's a game-changer! Since so many of you are curious about these gentle giants, I wanted to share my personal experience and some practical tips to help you add one to your tribe. First off, why even bother with a Bronto? They're huge, slow, and can be a pain to tame, right? Wrong! Brontos are absolute powerhouses for resource gathering, especially berries and thatch. Their massive tail swipe clears vast areas in seconds, making them incredibly efficient for farming. Plus, with a platform saddle, they become a mobile base, perfect for carrying tons of resources or even setting up a small defensive outpost on the go. Taming a Bronto is an undertaking, but totally worth it. You'll need a good stack of tranquilizer darts or arrows – I used over a hundred for my Lvl 240 – along with a powerful longneck rifle or crossbow. My strategy usually involves finding a relatively flat area, getting its attention, and then kiting it while continuously shooting it in the head. It takes a while, so patience is key! Once it's down, Mejoberries are their preferred food, but Kibble (Superior or Exceptional) will drastically speed up the process and result in higher taming effectiveness. Make sure to clear the area of any predators that might try to snack on your unconscious dino. Once your Bronto is tamed, the real fun begins! Riding a Bronto is an experience in itself. You'll immediately notice the "Access Inventory" and "Ride (Hold For Options)" prompts, giving you control over this majestic creature. I always set my Bronto's "AGGRESSION LEVEL" to "Passive". This is crucial because while their tail swipe is great for gathering, you don't want them accidentally destroying your base or engaging every creature they see. A big Bronto on passive mode means you control when and where it attacks, usually for farming or when you explicitly tell it to. Leveling up your Bronto focuses on Weight (they can carry so much!), Melee Damage (for better gathering and defense), and Health. A high-level Bronto like my Lvl 240 can take a serious beating and dish out plenty of damage. Don't forget the platform saddle – it's a must-have! You can build small structures on it, making your Bronto a truly versatile mobile hub. I've seen people build entire farming stations or even small lookout towers on theirs. Whether you're using them as a mobile berry harvester, a protective "Wingman" for your tribe, or just a cool dino to show off, Brontos are an iconic and incredibly useful part of ARK. They might seem daunting at first, but with a bit of effort, you'll have your own magnificent Bronto stomping around in no time. Happy surviving!
