Adventures in Wisconsin
Last week we started our day picking fresh blueberries. Watching my daughter search for the ripe ones, pick them herself, and sneak a few tastes along the way was awesome. There is something special about kids getting to see where their food comes from instead of just seeing it appear at the store.
After blueberry picking, we went to see the bears at the zoo. One of the coolest things to watch was how much they relied on their sense of smell. They were very curious about the scents around them and seemed especially interested in the visitors.
We started wondering if they could smell the blueberries we had been picking earlier. 🐻🫐
It was a fun reminder that animals experience the world so differently than we do. We use our eyes to take everything in, but for many animals their nose tells an entire story.
I love these little moments with my daughter. A day can start with picking berries and end with watching bears, and somehow both become opportunities to learn and explore.
