Quiet Time Line-Up
1. Start With Devotion
I like to start with a devotional because it prepares my heart for this intimate time with God. Reading one that both humbles and convicts me, helps prepare my heart to be in His presence. Prepares my heart to speak to Him and hear from His Word.
2. Move To Prayer
Ask the Lord to use this time to grow you closer to Him and to show you what He wants you to know. Include any other prayers that He places on your heart. Don’t rush this.
I Specifically like to use a prayer journal.
For a few reasons..
1. Allows me to focus & my mind not to wander
2 Allows me to see over time God
Answers to my prayers
3. Personally I think better through written word and can accurately lay out my heart before God
3. Read as much as allows you to remember and dwell on what you read.
If you can only focus on a few verses at a time… do that. Study them. Dwell. Repeat them in your head throughout the day. OR read a chapter for a few. Up to you. But make sure you can remember and recall what you read.
No distractions. Be ready and willing for what God intends for this sweet time with Him.
4. Reflection
Reflection allows you to dwell on what you read.
Write it down. Any thought you had.
Any verses that stood out.
Anything you liked or didn't understand, etc...
What can you learn from what you read? Based off of what you read, how should you now live?
5. Lastly, reach for resources
Lastly, after allowing the Lord to speak through His Word to you..
maybe reach for a commentary to help explain the tough.
The hard to understand parts. Comment if you’d like some reccs❤️
