Big Four Bridge

Grab a group, and walk from Kentucky to Indiana across the Big Four Bridge. It’s WINDY in February, but the pizza at the end is worth it! It’s about a one mile walk!

The Big Four Bridge is an iconic structure that has become a popular pedestrian and cycling pathway. Completed between 1889 and 1895, it was abandoned in 1969 but reopened to the public in February 2013, creating opportunities for outdoor recreation and connecting communities. The bridge features two ramps from Kentucky and Indiana that span approximately a quarter mile each, leading to a total bridge deck length of 2,545 feet. One unique aspect of visiting is the stunning views of the Ohio River, making it a picture-perfect spot for photos and gatherings. While visiting the bridge, keep in mind some visitor guidelines: pets and motorized vehicles are not allowed, ensuring a safe environment for everyone. Consider stopping by the nearby Parlour Pizza for a well-deserved meal after your walk; it's a treasured local spot where you'll enjoy tasty pizza and pints, making it a delightful end to your excursion.
