i’ve always been a big apple user for as long as i can remember. i used to just pay for different apple subscriptions individually, until they released this apple one subscription.
with apple one you gain access to all their subscription services for just one payment a month. i personally find it super useful, but i’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
... Read moreHey everyone! So, cait shared her initial thoughts on the Apple One subscription, and as someone who's also been diving deep into what it offers, I wanted to expand a bit more on why it might be a game-changer for many of us, especially if you're already deeply integrated into the Apple ecosystem.
Let's talk about what's really packed into this bundle. Beyond just getting all your Apple services in one bill, it's about the sheer convenience and potential savings. You're not just getting a few apps; you're getting a whole suite of premium experiences.
First up, iCloud+. This isn't just about extra storage for your photos and documents, though that's a huge plus (especially if you're constantly running out of space like I used to!). It also includes features like iCloud Private Relay for enhanced privacy when browsing, Hide My Email for creating unique, random email addresses, and HomeKit Secure Video support for your smart home cameras. For me, the extra storage alone, especially with all my family photos, makes a big difference.
Then there's Apple TV+. If you haven't checked it out, you're missing out on some truly fantastic, high-quality original shows and movies. Think 'Ted Lasso,' 'Severance,' 'The Morning Show'—they're all critically acclaimed and exclusive. It's a fantastic alternative or addition to your other streaming services, and honestly, the production value is incredible.
Apple Music is another cornerstone. With millions of songs, lossless audio, Spatial Audio, and curated playlists, it's a music lover's dream. If you're currently paying for another music streaming service, this could be a direct swap and potentially save you money when bundled. I personally love discovering new artists through their curated stations.
For the gamers, Apple Arcade is a fantastic value. It offers a huge library of ad-free, in-app-purchase-free games across all your Apple devices. It’s perfect for casual gaming on the go or finding deeper experiences without hidden costs. My kids (and sometimes even I!) get hours of enjoyment from it.
Now, depending on the plan, you might also get Apple Fitness+ and Apple News+. Fitness+ is brilliant if you have an Apple Watch. It provides studio-style workouts led by expert trainers, with new content added weekly. It's like having a personal trainer in your living room. News+ gives you access to hundreds of magazines and premium newspapers. If you're someone who loves to stay informed and enjoys reading a variety of publications, this can be a real gem.
The beauty of Apple One really shines when you consider the different tiers: Individual, Family, and Premier.
Individual is perfect if you're flying solo and just want to consolidate your personal subscriptions like iCloud storage, Music, TV+, and Arcade.
The Family plan is where the value really skyrockets if you have multiple Apple users in your household. Up to five other people can share the services, meaning everyone gets their own iCloud storage, access to Music, TV+, and Arcade. This is what *I* use, and the savings compared to paying for each service individually for everyone are substantial.
And finally, the Premier plan, which includes everything from Fitness+ to News+, plus even more iCloud storage, is ideal for larger households or power users who want absolutely everything Apple offers.
So, is it worth it? From my perspective, if you're already subscribing to two or more of Apple's services, or if you're considering getting into them, Apple One almost always works out to be a better deal financially, not to mention the sheer ease of having one simple bill. It's about streamlining your digital life and getting more for your money. Hopefully, this deeper dive helps you decide if it's the right fit for your Apple lifestyle!
My dad has the family plan and I’m part of it and lowkey so happy bc I stay using arcade games bc of no ads and Apple Music, having the extra storage is a HUGE bonus bc I have way too many photos on my phone 🤣
