What kind of roof is not hot? It's raining and the sound isn't loud? What do you use to make a roof?
"The house is so hot that it can't stay.
Whenever it rains, talk about it. "
Waste of fire, waste of emotion.
Don't heat and noise.
Let's undermine long-term happiness.
Because of the coolness and the quiet.
Is the heart of the word house.
• • First House Ep.19 • •
It is very important to choose the heat shield of the roof of the house to suit the weather in Thailand.
Because it's 70% heating.
Enter the house through the roof.
And half the noise.
It broke through a leak of material that lacked protection.
Popular in the market will be as follows:
🟠 Glass Fiber Insulation (Fiberglass)
Is the most popular type.
It's a yellow fine glass fiber.
Covered with foil.
To reflect the heat.
And prevent moisture.
✔️ excellent heat resistance.
✔️ fireproof.
✔️ not the food of termites and insects.
✔️ easy to install on both the ceiling and under the roof.
❌ if the foil is torn, the fibers can come off, itching or irritating the skin and respiratory tract.
🟠 White Foam Insulation (EPS Foam)
High density plastic foam sheet
It is commonly used to make walls or panels under roofs.
✔️ very lightweight.
✔️ constant heat resistance.
✔️ not very high price.
❌ easy to ignite and spread the fire quickly.
(Unless it is a non-fire grade, the price will be higher)
🟠 Pyufoam Spray Insulation (Polyurethane Foam / PU Foam)
It's a liquid insulation spray.
Directly under the roof.
Then the foam will set the solid body next to the material
Seamless ✔️. Built-in leakage prevention.
✔️ sound proof.
✔️ adhere to every surface.
❌ higher price than other types.
❌ the spray is uneven, it affects beauty.
❌ after a long time, it can turn yellow or crisp.
🟠 PP Insulation (Polyethylene Foam / PE Foam)
Is a thin sheet of foam
Upholstered with foil 1 or 2 sides
Often attached to metal sheets
✔️ cheap.
✔️ easy to install.
✔️'t mop the water.
✔️ tough, resistant to impact.
❌ less heat resistance than glass fiber or peu foam in the same thickness.
❌ can fall off if the glue wears off.

There is also a dedicated heat reflector (Aluminum Foil).
But you have to understand
Its main function is "reflection," not heat blocking, like glass fibers or foam.
A type of foil popular in Thailand.
🟠 Single Layer / 2 Sided Foil (Single / Double Sided)
It's a thin aluminum plate.
Focus on heat radiation reflection
✔️ suitable for budget savings.
🟠 Reinforced Foil
There's braided fibers inside.
To make it harder to break.
Durable to the wind force under the roof.
🟠 Bubble Foil
There will be plastic shockproof in the middle.
Helps block heat better than smooth foil
Because there's a heat slowing aid.
The cheapest ✔️.
Compared to other types of insulation in the same area.
✔️ easy to install.
Often paved along with roofing (putting on a pan), causing the work to end quickly.
✔️ doesn't store moisture.
The foil is not watery, not moldy.
And not an insect's address.
✔️ long life.
If you use good grades, it will not break as easily as normal plastic.
❌ can reflect but not together.
Without a good vent,
When the heat accumulates under the roof for a long time,
The foil will start to heat up.
And radiate heat down below.
❌ If there's dust accumulating on the foil skin,
Will greatly reduce the ability to reflect radiation.
❌ has no sound mop feature.
When it rains heavily, it will be noisy.

🏠 Important to use as a decision-making criterion.
1. Don't just look at the price per roll.
Let's look at the R-Value.
The higher, the hotter.
2. Look at the thickness and area.
Sometimes insulation at a higher price.
But even a little thicker.
May be 2 times better heat proof than thin insulation
3. Safety must come first
If installed in a stale or with a lot of wires,
Non-Flammable types should be selected for peace of mind.
