1. Pack for the weather: Costa Rica has a tropical climate, so pack lightweight, breathable clothing, sunscreen, a hat, and insect repellent. Costa Rica is very tropical. The weather can be very unpredictable and the weather report is not always reliable. It can still rain during dry season and it can also be good weather in rainy season.

2. Learn some basic Spanish: While English is spoken in many tourist areas, knowing some basic Spanish phrases can be helpful for communication with locals. Spanish is the primary language and is needed especially in the non tourist areas.

3. Explore beyond the tourist hotspots: While popular destinations like Arenal Volcano and Manuel Antonio National Park are worth visiting, consider exploring off-the-beaten-path locations to experience the true essence of Costa Rica. Costa Rica is known for its beautiful and tropical scenery. There are many places to explore and be one with nature.
