I thought it was the most stunning lake I’d ever seen, and I just knew that I had to see it in real life!
Spoiler alert, it did not disappoint!
It's a stunning alpine lake surrounded by beautiful mountains and forests. It's super easy to get to from Banff National Park, and you can do all sorts of cool stuff there, like hiking, canoeing, skiing, and ice skating. The water is so clear, you can see all the way to the bottom! Seriously, it's like something out of a postcard.

It gives the lake an almost otherworldly glow, especially on a sunny day. Seeing those majestic snow-capped mountains reflected in the serene turquoise waters is a sight I'll carry with me forever. If you're visiting as a couple, Lake Louise offers so many romantic experiences. We loved renting one of the iconic red canoes and paddling out onto the clear water. It's such a peaceful way to take in the towering mountains and pine forests surrounding you. Imagine gliding across that glassy surface, just the two of you, soaking in the breathtaking scenery – absolutely magical! For those who love hiking, there are trails for every fitness level. The Lake Agnes Teahouse trail is a popular choice, offering stunning panoramic views and a well-deserved treat at the top. Or, if you're up for more of a challenge, the Plain of Six Glaciers trail brings you even closer to the glaciers. Each step reveals new perspectives of this incredible landscape. Beyond the summer activities, Lake Louise transforms into a winter wonderland that's perfect for a cozy getaway. Picture ice skating hand-in-hand on the frozen lake, surrounded by snow-dusted peaks, or enjoying a horse-drawn sleigh ride. The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, nestled right by the lake, offers a truly luxurious and romantic base for exploring. Even just a walk along the wooden deck feels special, with the crisp mountain air and stunning vistas. Don't forget to explore a bit beyond Lake Louise itself! Banff National Park is full of other gems. While perhaps less famous than its sister, Moraine Lake (seasonally accessible) boasts an equally mesmerizing blue hue and is another must-see if time permits. Driving the Icefields Parkway, one of the world's most scenic drives, is an adventure in itself, connecting Banff to Jasper and offering countless photo opportunities of glaciers, waterfalls, and wildlife. My biggest tip? Go early in the morning to beat the crowds, especially in peak season. You'll get to experience the tranquility of the lake, capture incredible photos of the turquoise water without too many people, and truly appreciate the grandeur of the Canadian Rockies.
