Read more※これは我が家の体験談です。症状が強い/急に悪化する場合は、迷わず動物病院へ。 ■「猫風邪かな?」と感じた初期症状メモ うちで最初に気づいたのは、鼻声っぽい鳴き方とサラサラ〜少し粘りのある鼻水でした。加えて、咳の回数が増えたり、目の周りが痛そう(しょぼしょぼする・涙が増える)な様子も。猫風邪はくしゃみ・鼻水・結膜炎っぽさがセットで出ることが多いので、「いつもと違う」が重なったら要注意だと感じました。 ■呼吸が不規則/お腹が波打つように動くときの見分けポイント 検索でよく出てくる「猫の呼吸 お腹の動き」「波打つような呼吸」は、体調不良のサインになり得ます。私は次の点を観察しました。 ・寝ている時に胸やお腹がいつもより大きく上下していないか ・口を開けて呼吸していないか(口呼吸は緊急度が高いことが多い) ・呼吸が速い状態が落ち着かず続くか(安静時の頻呼吸) このあたりが当てはまるときは、猫風邪だけでなく肺や心臓、鼻腔内のトラブルなど別の原因もあり得るので、動画を撮って獣医師さんに見せるのがすごく役立ちました。 ■副鼻腔炎っぽいと言われたときに意識したこと 鼻水が長引く/粘りが強い/鼻づまりっぽい時は、副鼻腔炎を疑うこともあるそうです。我が家では抗生物質の治療で「だいたい全治2週間くらい」を目安にと言われ、焦らずケアする方針に。途中で良くなったように見えても自己判断で薬を止めず、指示通り飲ませ切ることを徹底しました。 ■自宅でできたサポート(我が家の場合) ・部屋の乾燥対策:加湿で鼻づまりが少し楽そうでした ・食欲チェック:匂いがわからないと食べにくいので、温めて香りを立てる ・水分:ウェットを増やす/飲水量の変化を記録 ・ストレスを減らす:通院後は静かな場所で休ませる 「ちゅ〜るみたいな鼻水が無限…」みたいに見える時は、量・色(透明/白/黄緑)・においもメモして受診時に伝えるとスムーズでした。 ■口内炎・歯茎も一緒にチェック 風邪症状があると口呼吸っぽく見えたり、口の中の炎症でよだれが増えることも。歯茎が赤く腫れていないか、口臭が強くないか、痛がって食べない様子がないかは毎日短時間で確認しました。口内炎初期は見逃しやすいので、写真を撮って比較するのもおすすめです。 ■受診の目安(私が「行く」と決めた基準) ・食欲が落ちる、元気が明らかにない ・呼吸が苦しそう/口を開けて呼吸 ・鼻水や咳が数日続いて悪化傾向 ・目ヤニや涙が増え、目を開けにくそう 早めに診てもらって「陰性だった」「ただの風邪寄りだった」と分かるだけでも、飼い主の不安がかなり減りました。ぼちぼち回復していく過程も含めて、同じように心配している方の参考になれば嬉しいです。
