Love language is now more commonly known in our generation thanks to social media — but did you know that your love language in terms of giving and receiving may also be different? Although in most cases, they tend to be the same. 🤓
‼️Also, note that love languages can CHANGE overtime and it may not be the same throughout your relationship.‼️
I’ll take myself as example; before I got married, one of my top love languages was spending quality time together while gifts was last on my list. Now that I’m married, gifts became one of my top love languages and quality time went down the rankings. 😶🌫️ This is likely due to the change in lifestyle after marriage as we get to spend more time together, hence that tank is more easily filled than the rest.
Again, knowing the right love language is simply a guide to love better and to ensure that your efforts can be seen and felt by your partner. There may be preferred love languages, but know that it’s also important to fill all 5 of them from time to time.
🥰 One thing that my partner and I do to ensure that our love tanks are filled is to literally ask & be honest with each other — we ask questions like “how are your love tanks looking?”, “do you feel loved?”, and “is there anything I can do to love you better?”.

We once tried dedicating specific days to focus on different love languages—from giving small gifts to spending undistracted quality time. It deepened our connection and helped us appreciate love from varied perspectives. Remember, the goal is to love better and more meaningfully, not perfectly. Taking the time to understand and adapt to evolving love languages can transform your relationship into a more fulfilling and supportive partnership.
