8️⃣ things we did at our wedding that we loved

Hi there 🍋s!

We held our wedding at JW Marriott on the 15 of Sept this year and here are a few things we did that added a special touch to our big day.

1) customised lucky draw coupon/tickets for all our guests. Guests were handed lucky draw tickets at the recept table, each ticket had its unique number.

It was part of our interactive game and top 3 guests were entitled to win a prize at the end of our wedding.

2) giving 4D tickets as part of our door gift.

We packed and wrapped each 4D ticket into a red packet and got our bridesmaid and grooms man to help place the red packet on the table for our guests. (we bought around 300 tickets and last we heard 2 of our guests striked🤩)

3) disposable film cameras for our guests to help capture moments that we may have missed out. Or even just simple moments like walking down the aisle or doing our first dance!

4) using our pictures based on the duration that we got together as table numbers. Eg. table 10 = 10 months into our relationship together

5) Audio guest book. The vintage phone could also be part of a table deco on your photo table and add a magical touch to it! We had to pre record our greetings and guests will be able to say some well wishes to us in the phone after the “beep” and we would be able to listen to their well wishes after our wedding 😄

6) DIY-ed our wedding posters via TB instead of hiring a vendor to do it for us. Personal preference as it was definitely so much cheaper + I could get to keep the posters after the wedding. (Disclaimer: this is based on my own assumption, I am not sure if vendors would allow you to keep the posters after the wedding as I did not engage one)

7) customised our aisle carpet for our March ins. Personally preferred a white carpet to go with the theme I had in mind instead of the fairy lights stage (which would go so well with the venue as well). However a white carpet seemed too plain for me, thus I opted for an extra touch to it✨

8) DIY-ed our own angbao boxes with our names from a box we got off shoppee instead of customising them from gift shops. I always loved the idea of having something unique yet affordable thus we did it on our own, simple and fuss free!

Bonus: we mailed our wedding invites to a few of our favourite vendors & miniso actually came down on our actual wedding day to pass us a gift - customised pen pens with our names embroidered on them!! 🐧

There were definitely many more things that we did for our wedding which we loved but here are the top 8 that I can think of at the moment.

I hope our ideas could help bride-to-bes, looking forward to all of you sharing your ideas with me too! 😄

... Read moreOne highlight that deeply resonated with our guests was the interactive lucky draw game. Distributing unique numbered coupons at the reception not only thrilled attendees but also encouraged mingling and excitement throughout the event. Giving out 4D lottery tickets as door gifts was an unexpected hit. Wrapping them in red packets added a festive vibe, and discovering that some guests actually won prizes made it even more special. We loved how disposable film cameras let guests capture candid moments we might have missed. It gave everyone a fun way to engage during the celebration and left us with joyful memories beyond professional photos. Using pictures from our relationship milestones as table numbers personalized the space wonderfully, sparking conversations and nostalgia. The vintage audio guest book with a telephone was a charming addition, offering a unique way for loved ones to leave heartfelt wishes that we continue to cherish. Opting to DIY our wedding posters and angbao boxes not only saved money but added sentimental value. Creating these items ourselves made the day feel truly authentic. Customizing our aisle carpet with subtle details gave a delicate yet elegant touch that matched our theme perfectly. A delightful surprise was receiving personalized gifts from vendors like Miniso on the wedding day, which showed how connections made the event even more meaningful. If you’re planning your big day, consider these ideas that blend creativity, fun, and personal sentiment to make unforgettable memories. Each thoughtful detail brings your story to life in a way guests will love and remember!
