Wedding Nightmare ??? 👀⚡️⚡️⚡️

Hi 🍋 s!

It has been >6 months since my wedding and I’m here to share one of the horrors I’ve faced during or even after my wedding.

We had lots of good memories and great vendors but of course with the good memories comes bad ones as well.

We did not think much about hiring an expensive videographer as we just needed one mainly for the actual day montage + a simple wedding video for us to leave as keepsake after the wedding day.

So after the wedding, he said he wanted to perfect our video by coming down to our place to record our “rom speech” to edit in the video as we did our ROM before the actual wedding date. And he was only available in end of Nov to Dec, we were fine with that.

However there were no updates from him and I had to contact him personally to check when he was free. Subsequently he postponed the dates twice just for the voice recording session. And second time of postponing was literally the day before. (See pic 2-3)

he finally came down sometimes in Feb, for the voice recording and told us we would be able to receive the video end of the month, which was end of Feb.

After the recording date he suddenly change his contact number but thankful he still reached out to us with his new number. Then no news from him again. (pic 4-6) he claimed that he wanted to “edit” the video properly but Seriously how much time do you need when we already gave you more than half a year to edit?? (Pic 7)

It’s as though he was hoping we would have forgot about it. And tbh his “reasons”…….. were really never our problem to begin with because as we were a paying customer. His final “excuse” when he was suppose to send me the video last night as promised. (Last pic) while doing a business, should you uphold th image of your company and deliver on a certain date you promised? Also his rate wasn’t below market rate as well so I don’t understand why we’re facing this problem??

also the only reason WHY I took this long to write this post was because I had to wait for the video to be sent over before finally posting!

It has been a really tiring chasing process which no post-bride should face. In total I chased him 4 times , November, Feb, March, April. I guess my learning lesson from this is would be I should have read up more reviews on the vendor and see how “active” they were on their business profile before officially committing to them. Hopefully my lesson reaches out to the bride to bes here and none of you will have to ever face this problem!

... Read moreWeddings are often depicted as magical experiences, but they can also bring unexpected challenges, especially when working with vendors. Many couples prioritize selecting the right videographer to capture those moments that last a lifetime. However, it's crucial to thoroughly research potential candidates, checking reviews and their responsiveness. In my case, a trusted vendor turned into a nightmare as communication broke down and promises were constantly delayed. It's common for brides and grooms to face situations where vendors fail to meet expectations. Post-wedding, it's vital to have a solid contract in place that outlines delivery timelines and responsibilities. This helps ensure accountability and provides recourse if things go awry. Personal experiences like mine serve as important reminders of the significance of due diligence before making commitments. Additionally, engaging with a community of brides can provide valuable insights and recommendations, helping to avoid pitfalls and ensuring a smoother planning process. For those preparing for their big day, consider creating a checklist to evaluate vendors effectively. Ask for recommendations, check online reviews, and inquire about their past experiences. Ultimately, a seamless wedding experience relies heavily on effective communication with vendors, and proactive steps can help mitigate potential nightmares.
