i stopped caring abt my style

i’m 25 and as i get older i start leaning towards more comfy clothes or how the fabric feels on my body.

1st pic is me today, then the pics progress from 2020 to now.

when i was younger, i definitely explored with my style more, went to thrift stores more, did my make up more often

but now i’m more sensitive to how clothes feel on my body, like if a fabric feels weird it literally bothers me so much. i almost feel overstimulated and angry/bothered until i get home and change to something comfier.

i tend to opt more towards softer and fitting clothes. ofc i still try to curate my look but i’ve definitely put less effort towards the aesthetic of my look. i’m more like, lashes lip gloss, cute comfy outfit combo and then go..

the feeling of the clothes on my body is what highlights this change though, because i used to ALWAYS loveee picking my outfits out. now if i wear something that is ribbed, itchy , too exposed, i literally feel sooo overwhelmed that i just wish i could j take my clothes off and go. does anyone else feel the same?

... Read moreAs we age, our priorities often shift, especially regarding fashion and personal style. Many people find themselves favoring comfort over aesthetics as they navigate everyday life. This transition can be particularly notable around the age of 25, a time when individuals often reassess their clothing choices. The fabric of our clothing can play a crucial role in how we feel throughout the day. Sensitivities to various materials can prompt discomfort, leading to decisions that prioritize softness and practicality. It’s common to find oneself gravitating toward softer, well-fitting clothes that provide ease of movement and comfort, particularly when faced with the stressors of daily life. This change is not just about personal preference but can also be linked to a deeper understanding of one’s body and needs. It’s essential to recognize that feeling good in our clothing significantly impacts our confidence and emotional state. Many find that makeup and an aesthetically pleasing outfit lose their allure when discomfort takes center stage. Instead, a simple combination of a cute, comfy outfit complemented by minimal makeup—like lashes and lip gloss—can create a relaxed yet stylish look. Moreover, this shift encourages embracing vulnerability and authenticity in fashion choices. Instead of conforming to external pressures or trends, many are prioritizing their well-being and comfort, leading to a more genuine expression of self through clothing. This movement resonates with hashtags like #realisticfashion and #embracevulnerability, which advocate for a style that reflects personal experiences rather than societal expectations. As you reflect on your journey, consider how your style has evolved and what truly matters to you in your clothing choices.
