You’ve heard of Saved by the Bell… but have you heard of saved by grace? 👀
It’s a cute play on words for a Christian tee, but the message behind it is actually the heart of the Gospel.
Ephesians 2:8–9 tells us that we are saved by grace through faith—not because we’ve somehow earned salvation through our own works.
And I think that’s something even Christians need to be reminded of sometimes.
We can fall into the trap of treating Christianity like a checklist:
Read my Bible today. ✔️
Prayed this morning. ✔️
Went to church. ✔️
Did something kind. ✔️
Avoided that sin. ✔️
Those things matter, but none of them are what saves us.
Jesus does.
Grace means receiving something we could never earn for ourselves. Christ paid the price for sin, and salvation is God’s gift to those who put their faith in Him.
But grace doesn’t mean, “I’m saved, so how I live doesn’t matter.” Quite the opposite. When you truly understand what Christ has done for you, obedience becomes a response to salvation—not an attempt to earn it.
We don’t do good works so God will save us. We do good works because He already has.
