It's truly amazing what you can achieve without breaking the bank and it perfectly captured the excitement for our celebration. It's a lifesaver for managing Event RSVPs and keeping everyone in the loop with up-to-date details. When I was brainstorming my own site, I thought about what guests would truly need. Here are some sections I found indispensable: Our Story: A sweet summary of how you met and fell in love. Guests adore this personal touch! Event Details & RSVP: This is crucial! Clearly list the date, time, and venues for all your wedding events. I made sure to include an Event RSVP section with a clear deadline, like BY APRIL 26, 2026, making it super easy for guests to confirm attendance. Providing a direct link to a Google Form works wonders for collecting responses. Accommodation & Travel: If you have out-of-town guests, provide recommendations for hotels, directions, and transportation options. Registry Information: Clearly link to your gift registry. This makes it convenient for guests to find your selections. FAQs: Answer common questions about dress code, plus-ones, kids, parking, etc. This saves you so many texts and emails! Contact Us: Offer a way for guests to submit Comments and/or questions. It shows you're accessible and happy to help. After playing around with different ideas, I found Canva to be an incredible tool for the design aspect, especially since my template was Designed with Canva. You can create stunning visuals, and then easily integrate them into platforms that allow for custom code or even simple website builders. For complete beginners, free platforms like Google Sites can be a great starting point for hosting a free wedding website. My biggest tip? Keep it mobile-friendly! Most guests will view your site on their phones. A clear schedule helps everyone know what to expect. Here’s a simple example of how I laid out our big day on the website: 3:00 PM: Guest Arrival & Welcome Drinks 3:30 PM: Ceremony Begins 4:00 PM: Cocktail Hour & Canapés 5:30 PM: Reception Doors Open 6:00 PM: Dinner Service & Toasts 8:00 PM: First Dance & Open Dancing 10:30 PM: Farewell & After-Party Details This gives guests a good overview without revealing every single minute, building anticipation for when We can't wait to celebrate with you! Beyond the practicalities, your wedding website should reflect you as a couple. Use your favorite colors, fonts, and photos. Add little notes about your journey. It’s your chance to share your excitement and set the tone for your wedding. A personalized website truly makes a difference and is such a fun DIY project!
