These Books Felt Like Therapy 😌

Here are the most powerful books l've read in 2025 and what each book taught me as a woman in her 20's:

1. Stay Until Tomorrow by: Jacqueline

This book hit me right in the feels. It's a heartfelt story about friendships, finding your own path, and allowing yourself to grow even when it feels uncomfortable. It reminded me that it's okay to revisit the past, but the future is where my focus should be.

2. Daring to Take Up Space by: Daniell Koepke This one was like a warm hug and a pep talk all in one. Daniell's words reminded me that I don't need to shrink myself for anyone or anything. It taught me to value my voice and embrace the messy, imperfect parts of who I am unapologetically.

3. The Mountain Is You by: Brianna Wiest

Every page felt like an "aha" moment. This book taught me that the biggest obstacle in my life is often myself-and that's okay. It gave me tools to tackle self-sabotage and replace it with self-compassion and growth. I'm walking away with a clearer perspective on how to embrace change.

4. This Is How You Heal by: Brianna Wiest

This one felt like a companion to The Mountain Is You. It reminded me that healing isn't linear and gave me so many nuggets of wisdom about grief, love, and the process of moving on. It's the kind of book you can open to any page and feel understood.

... Read moreYou know those moments when a book just gets you? Like it was written specifically for your soul? That's exactly how I felt about the books I shared in my main post. But beyond just reading them, truly integrating their lessons into my life, especially in my twenties, has been a journey of its own. One of the biggest takeaways for me, especially from books like *Daring to Take Up Space*, was understanding the sheer power of self-worth. For so long, I found myself shrinking in conversations, fearing judgment, or second-guessing my contributions. It's a common experience, I think, for many of us who might identify as feeling like a 'shy girl' or someone who just struggles to assert themselves. This book, and others with similar motivational and empowering messages, didn't just tell me to be confident; they gave me permission to be messy, to be imperfect, and still believe my voice mattered. It was incredibly transformative. I realized that 'taking up space' isn't about being loud or dominating; it's about authentic presence. It's about confidently sharing your ideas in a meeting, setting healthy boundaries in relationships, or simply allowing yourself to exist fully without apology. These books offered such insightful perspectives, showing me practical ways to shift my mindset from self-doubt to self-compassion. They helped me recognize the internal 'mountains' I'd built, often out of fear or past experiences, and provided tools to begin dismantling them. It’s like they softly whispered, 'Hey, you’re allowed to be here, exactly as you are.' For anyone who's ever felt like they're holding themselves back, these reads are a beacon. They're not just stories; they're guides that encourage growth and resilience. They make you reflect on your own journey, prompting questions like, 'Where am I shrinking? Where can I expand?' The uplifting narratives and practical advice resonated deeply, especially when navigating the often confusing landscape of my twenties – a decade filled with career choices, relationship shifts, and finding my own identity. It was during this time that I truly started to understand the importance of being courageous in my self-expression. Moreover, the aspect of healing that came through in books like This Is How You Heal was profound. It reminded me that personal growth isn't a straight line. There are setbacks, moments of regression, and times when you feel utterly lost. But having a compassionate framework to understand these phases, to treat myself with kindness through grief or change, was invaluable. These books became my quiet companions, always there to offer a supportive voice and a fresh perspective when I needed it most, teaching me to embrace the non-linearity of life's challenges. Ultimately, these aren't just book recommendations; they're invitations to a deeper conversation with yourself. They've been instrumental in helping me shed the skin of insecurity and embrace a more courageous version of myself, someone who isn't afraid to take risks, learn from mistakes, and truly 'take up space' in the world. They helped me move from a place of uncertainty to one of quiet strength. So, if you're looking for that next read that feels like a warm hug and a gentle push, dive into these. You might just find the therapy you never knew you needed.
