You don't need validation

7/19 Edited to

... Read moreLearning to trust yourself is a transformative journey that greatly impacts your emotional and mental well-being. I used to rely heavily on others' approval to feel confident, which often left me feeling anxious and uncertain. Over time, I discovered practices rooted in nervous system regulation, self-awareness, and emotional regulation that empowered me to break free from this cycle. One technique that helped me immensely was tuning into my body's signals—a core aspect of nervous system regulation. For instance, noticing when I felt tense or uneasy gave me clues about my inner state, allowing me to pause and respond with calming breath exercises. This simple act helped reduce stress and foster a more balanced emotional state. Developing self-awareness was another critical step. I began journaling daily thoughts and emotions, which made me more mindful of patterns where I sought validation externally. Recognizing these moments gave me the space to challenge the thoughts and remind myself that my worth isn't dependent on others' opinions. Emotional regulation techniques, such as naming emotions without judgment, provided me with clarity and control over how I responded to situations. When I felt the urge to seek approval, I would consciously shift focus to what I truly valued and needed, strengthening my self-trust. The essence of this journey is realizing that self-trust doesn't happen overnight—it's built through consistent practice and gentle self-compassion. By embracing these principles, you can gradually release the need for validation and cultivate a stronger, more resilient sense of self.
