เวลาเราเห็นชื่อเว็บลงท้ายต่างกัน เช่น .com, .org หรือแบบไทยอย่าง .ac.th หลายคนจะเผลอคิดว่า “คำต่อท้าย” คือชื่อองค์กรเฉพาะ แต่จริงๆ มันคือ “โดเมน” ที่ช่วยบอกประเภท/ประเทศของเว็บไซต์ (บางกรณี) ทำให้เดาได้คร่าวๆ ว่าเว็บนั้นเกี่ยวกับอะไรและน่าเชื่อถือระดับไหน 1) .com คือองค์กรใด? .com มาจากคำว่า commercial เดิมทีใช้กับ “ธุรกิจ/เชิงพาณิชย์” แต่ปัจจุบันใครก็จดได้ ไม่จำเป็นต้องเป็นบริษัทเสมอไป เลยเป็นโดเมนที่พบเยอะที่สุด เช่น youtube.com, lemon8-app.com, หรือเว็บร้านค้าออนไลน์ต่างๆ 2) .com มีเว็บอะไรบ้าง (ยกตัวอย่างแบบเข้าใจง่าย) - เว็บแบรนด์/บริษัท: hatari.co.th (ของไทยจะเป็น .co.th มากกว่า .com) - เว็บบริการ/แอป/แพลตฟอร์ม: youtube.com - เว็บร้านค้า: หลายแบรนด์ใช้ .com เพื่อให้จำง่ายและดูสากล สรุปคือ “.com ไม่ได้การันตีว่าเป็นองค์กรแบบไหน 100%” แต่โดยภาพรวมมักใช้กับเว็บทั่วไป/ธุรกิจ/บริการ 3) แล้ว .ac.th คืออะไร? (ac th ตัวอย่าง) .ac.th เป็นโดเมนของประเทศไทยที่ใช้กับ “สถาบันการศึกษา” (ac = academic, th = Thailand) ดังนั้นเว็บที่ลงท้าย .ac.th มักเป็นโรงเรียน/มหาวิทยาลัย/หน่วยงานการศึกษาที่เกี่ยวข้อง ตัวอย่างที่เจอบ่อย เช่น - schoolname.ac.th (เว็บไซต์โรงเรียน) - university.ac.th (เว็บไซต์มหาวิทยาลัย) - thanyarat.ac.th (ตัวอย่างโรงเรียน) 4) โดเมนแบบไทยที่พบบ่อยและความหมาย เวลาเห็นท้ายเป็น “สองชั้น” อย่าง .co.th หรือ .or.th มักบอกประเภทหน่วยงานชัดขึ้น เช่น - .co.th = บริษัท/เชิงพาณิชย์ในไทย - .go.th = หน่วยงานรัฐบาลไทย - .or.th = องค์กรไม่แสวงหากำไรในไทย - .in.th = ใช้ได้หลากหลาย/บุคคล (ขึ้นกับเงื่อนไขผู้ให้บริการจดโดเมน) 5) ทริคเล็กๆ ตอนเช็กความน่าเชื่อถือ ถ้าเป็นเว็บการศึกษาในไทย การเห็น .ac.th ช่วยให้มั่นใจได้ระดับหนึ่งว่าเป็นเว็บสายการศึกษา แต่ก็ยังควรดูชื่อโดเมนระดับที่สาม (ชื่อหน่วยงาน) ให้ตรงกับโรงเรียน/สถาบันจริง และระวังโดเมนที่สะกดคล้ายๆ เพื่อหลอกลวง ลองฝึกเดาเล่นๆ จากตัวอย่าง: code.org, scratch.mit.edu, nectec.or.th, school.ac.th — แค่ดูท้ายโดเมนก็พอเดาแนวเว็บได้แล้วค่ะ
