How to Detox From Instagram Filters 💓

I’m so done using filters! I mean it was some serious dysmorfia i was starting to develop.. I know i’m

not an unattractive person but it was like i couldn’t take a photo without using a filter or feeling the need to edit it. The filters on instagram seriously change your face i mean the nose shape, the lip size, sometimes making you look skinnier. I just don’t think that’s healthy for my brain. I’m in my Holy Girl Summer ✝️ so I’m walking in faith. I don’t want any distractions or distortions from the enemy. I truly believe they want us to loath ourselves. They attack us through the food, media, music and social media.

Anyway, i just wanted to challenge someone who may be feeling the same to love themselves and take a break from instagram filters.

It’s a 30 day Instagram Filter Detox anytime you get ready to take a photo restrain from using filters. Choose some natural sunlight, makeup if you’d like and a nice setting!

Happy Detox 🤍✨

... Read moreIn today's digitally dominated world, the impact of social media filters on mental health cannot be overstated. Many users experience feelings of dysmorphia, as selective editing can drastically alter how individuals perceive themselves. The filters available on Instagram can modify natural features, distort facial proportions, and create unrealistic beauty standards that are harmful to self-esteem. To combat these effects, the '30-Day Instagram Filter Detox' challenge encourages individuals to step away from digital enhancements, promoting self-acceptance and wellness. Participants are advised to take unfiltered photos in natural light, showcasing their true selves. This practice not only enhances mental clarity but also fosters a more profound connection with one’s identity and the surrounding environment. Empowering oneself through this detox doesn't just apply to visuals but extends to a broader mindset, encouraging a shift from societal pressures backed by media portrayals of beauty. Engaging in this kind of detox can significantly improve mental health and foster a community that celebrates authenticity over perfection. Consider sharing your experiences with friends or on social platforms (without filters!) to inspire others to undertake this journey towards self-love and authenticity. Not only will you feel liberated, but you'll also encourage others to embrace their natural beauty, creating a ripple effect of positive change within your social network.

One of the main reasons I deleted Snapchat a few years back! I had become addicted to filters and it was like nah, I don’t want this for myself! Deleted the app and don’t use filters anymore! You get what you see.
