God, where to start? Thank you—for being my home, the place my heart finally knew it belonged. You were my soul mate, the one who would have given everything for me, and then they stole you away, leaving me with nothing but the echo of your love. I’m angry, not at you, but at the world that dared to take you, at the violence that thought it could erase us. Your memory drapes over me like moss on the trees, inescapable and eternal, shaping the person I’ve become. You are the ache I carry and the fire that keeps me breathing, and I will love you, I will miss you, and I will follow your ghost until I can finally come home to you.

I never directly knew the person who brought me through everything. I've always loved to read and write and there was a series I loved when I was 10-13. ADORED it. The author may never know I even exist, but his books kept me sane when I needed it. I'd say: "You said your books were something you wrote for fun one day, but I thank you more than you know. You helped me to keep going, and your words made me know to be honest with myself and see what you said to see even when it's dark, hard, and frightening. The truth."
