Gamifying my Savings - for 100 days straight
✨ Days Of Saving ✨ Day 29
I’m embarking on a 100-day savings challenge, and I’m thrilled to share my journey with you. As you know, I’ve already faced several savings challenges, but I’m determined to show you that even the most challenging tasks can be accomplished.
Here’s what I’ll be doing:
- I’ll use a box of envelopes from the dollar store to keep track of my savings.
- I’ll roll two dice each day to determine how much money I can save.
- I’ll use a pen or marker to mark the day on each envelope.
- I’ll save between $2 and $12, depending on the outcome of the dice roll.
To make the process easier, buy a box of envelopes from the dollar store this way, you can simply use the box to hold the envelopes full of cash.
We’ll start the challenge on September 1, 2025, and I’ll save every day for 100 days straight. I’m excited to see how much money I can save based on the probability of the dice rolls.
There’s one exception to this challenge: if I don’t have the funds to cover the amount determined by the dice roll on a particular day, I’ll try to get the funds for it the next day. This way, I’ll still be able to save every day, but I’ll make sure that each day has the money it was determined to have.
I’ll make some sacrifices to make this challenge possible. I won’t be buying Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks, and I’ll walk short distances instead of taking the bus or train. I’ll also pack my lunch and snacks and pause all my streaming subscriptions for the next 100 days.
This is a grind, ladies and gentlemen. You’re either with me or you’re not. It’s really just that simple.
Let me know in the comments if you’ll be joining me on this journey.
✨🫣 🌸 By the way, I’m just extra and got pink envelopes off of Amazon. It’s just a girl thing, you know? 🤣 🌸🌸🌸
