Renovation diaries

Renovation can be so expensive but that doesn’t mean you have to compromise on aesthetic.

Initial BTO cover is very bulky hence it ruins the look of the house.

Therefore we look around for cheaper alternatives, which is bomb shelter ventilation cover! It does look abit messy now but definitely can be painted over for more seamless look.

💰 Price: less than $100

Definitely worth it!

There’s 3 designs to choose from. Installation is so easy, you don’t even have to be at home. Everything was done by the installer & they will provide photos of the updates once they are done!

Comment ‘cover’ for the link!

2025/7/8 Edited to

... Read moreWhen planning my home renovation, I was determined to find budget-friendly solutions without sacrificing style. The bulky initial bomb shelter ventilation cover in my BTO unit was an eyesore, so I explored alternative options and discovered bomb shelter ventilation covers that cost less than $100 but still looked great. One of the options we chose involved a clever use of half carpentry and a tic tac glass door to conceal the bomb shelter door. This allowed part of the ventilation to remain open, improving airflow while adding a modern aesthetic. The tic tac door has a minimalist design that suits various interior styles and helped us save on renovation costs. Installation was surprisingly easy — the contractor handled everything, and I could continue with my routine without interruption. Plus, they provided photos after completing the work, which made me feel reassured about the progress. For anyone considering similar renovations, I highly recommend looking into different ventilation cover designs. Think beyond full coverage; combining partial carpentry and glass doors can create a seamless, stylish look while maintaining functionality. Painting the covers after installation truly helps them blend right into your home’s décor. Overall, these small but impactful changes made a big difference in elevating our living space without breaking the bank. I’m excited to share more about the next phase of our carpentry work soon!
